The Miami Dolphins offense has been one of the most explosive units this year, but the team has had to battle injuries. De’Von Achane is currently on the injured reserve, while a couple of his teammates are battling injuries entering Week 8.

Here’s a closer look at the latest injury updates for Raheem Mostert, Jaylen Waddle, and Joshua Palmer and how these injuries could affect the fantasy football outlook for the Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers.

Latest News and Injury Updates Impacting Fantasy

    Raheem Mostert

Mostert is dealing with an ankle injury. He did not have his usual efficient game in Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but when healthy, he has been one of the best running backs in the league.

His 474 yards are currently fifth in the league, and he has shown that he is still the explosive running back he has always been. Right now, it is still hard to truly know what his status is, but Thursday’s practice will give fantasy football managers a much better look at where Mostert is.

According to a report from Adam Schefter, Mostert was a non-participant in Wednesday’s practice. However, he returned to practice Thursday, which should be a good sign of him playing on Sunday.

If Mostert can not go, then fantasy football managers should pay attention to Jeff Wilson Jr. Friday will be a much more telling day to the severity of Mostert’s injury. His status for this weekend’s game may be in question, but he is not the only Dolphins’ playmaker dealing with injuries.

Editor’s Note: Mostert returned to practice on Thursday.

    Jaylen Waddle

Injuries are starting to be another issue for the Dolphins. Waddle wasn’t able to go through the entire practice on Wednesday with a back injury he suffered during Sunday night’s loss to the Eagles.

He still had a solid night with six catches and 63 yards receiving. He has had at least four catches and five targets in every game this year. He is an explosive player who can score every time he touches the ball. For a player who relies so much on speed and quickness to cut, this could be a problem for him even if he plays.

It isn’t just Waddle who is battling injuries, either. Tyreek Hill didn’t practice Wednesday due to a hip injury. Miami is a team to monitor later in the week.

    Joshua Palmer

Palmer is coming off a career game with five catches for 133 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs. One of those catches went for 60 yards, and he was a big player for the Chargers. He accounted for over half the receiving yards of all the Chargers’ receivers and has been the guy to step in for Mike Williams.

However, injuries seem to have hit the Chargers as much as any organization in the NFL, and Palmer missed practice on Wednesday. He missed because of a knee injury, and like the other players, Thursday’s practice should start to show where he is at for this weekend.

Palmer has received at least seven targets in the last four games since Williams’ injury, showing he is the unquestioned No. 2 receiver in Los Angeles. However, if he is unable to go, guys like Quentin Johnson, Derius Davis, and Simi Fehoko could see their targets increase on Sunday.
