As always, starting a TE outside of Travis Kelce or Mark Andrews can give you anxiety, but we all are not fortunate enough to have one of them on our fantasy football roster. If not, should you start Dalton Kincaid or Taysom Hill in Week 8?

Fantasy Outlook for Dalton Kincaid This Week
Kincaid’s fantasy value jumped this week with the news of TE Dawson Knox undergoing wrist surgery and missing at least a couple of games. Knox has averaged approximately four targets a game, and there is a high chance that those could head Kincaid’s way.

The rookie had his best game in Week 7, finishing as the TE6. He caught all eight of his targets for 75 yards. He was also targeted in the red zone. Knox has six red-zone targets this year, so with him out of the lineup for some time, we could see Kincaid get more opportunities to score.
Kincaid is poised to have a good game on Thursday night and comes in as TE11 in our PFN Consensus Rankings.
Fantasy Outlook for Taysom Hill This Week
The Saints have finally figured out how to use Hill in the receiving game, and it has unlocked a startable TE for fantasy. Starting Hill has always meant feast or famine, but in the last two weeks, he has been a top-24 TE, playing 80% of the snaps and getting at least five targets. Throw in the rushing attempts, and Hill is becoming more well-rounded.
Hill is TE13 in our Week 8 PFN Consensus Rankings.
Which of the TEs Should You Start?
In the Pro Football Network Start/Sit Optimizer, PFN’s Consensus Rankings say Kincaid should be started over Hill with 8.3 fantasy points projected. He is projected to have 3.1 receptions for 32.3 yards. Hill is projected to have 6.6 fantasy points on 0.5 receptions for four yards.
It is a close one, but I agree with the Optimizer. I think the rookie Kincaid is poised for a breakout game, and the Bills will take the opportunity with Knox out to pepper him with targets.
