MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins offense technically practiced Wednesday, but the offense as we know it did not.
There were a number of significant players missing during the portion open to the media, including the NFL’s leading receiver, Tyreek Hill.
From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!
Miami Dolphins Practice Report: Tyreek Hill Absent
Hill was one of four potential starters missing from the Dolphins’ offense at their Wednesday practice.
The reason? He’s dealing with a hip injury — the severity of which was not immediately clear.

Hill did get banged up in the Dolphins’ Week 7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, making a visit to the blue injury tent before ultimately returning to the game. He was on the field for 38 of a possible 49 snaps, catching 11 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown.
Hill is one of the NFL’s most durable players. He rarely misses practices and has not missed a game since 2020.
While Hill was the Dolphins’ most notable absence, he was far from the only. Leading rusher Raheem Mostert, fullback Alec Ingold, and left guard Robert Jones also did not practice.
Jones’ absence was notable, as the Dolphins recently lost starter Isaiah Wynn for weeks — and potentially the season — to a quadriceps injury.
“Isaiah has a long journey ahead of him,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said. “I’m not going to rule [returning this season] out, but that’s why I don’t adhere to timelines because I would’ve been totally incorrect on the Jalen Ramsey window opening. He’s got a long journey, but I’m not going to say zero chance.”

On defense, the news was better, but it wasn’t without concern. Jevon Holland remains in the concussion protocol and did not practice Wednesday.
Among the Dolphins players who did practice? Ramsey, Xavien Howard, Jaylen Waddle, Connor Williams, and David Long, all of whom missed some — if not all — of Week 7 with injury.
One other note: River Cracraft became the fourth Dolphins player to be designated to return from injured reserve. He practiced on Wednesday.
