Jordan Addison Injury Update: What We Know About the Vikings Rookie WR

The Vikings have already seen TE T.J. Hockenson get banged up on Monday Night Football. Now, first-round WR Jordan Addison appears to have suffered an injury.

The Minnesota Vikings have already seen tight end T.J. Hockenson get banged up on Monday Night Football, while wide receiver Justin Jefferson is on injured reserve. Now, they could be without Jordan Addison after the first-round rookie WR suffered an injury against the San Francisco 49ers.

    Jordan Addison Injury Update

Addison appeared to get injured after failing to catch a deep pass attempt from Kirk Cousins near the end of the third quarter. He was initially rolling around in pain but was eventually able to leave the field on his own.

Addison went straight to the locker room, which suggested a fairly serious injury.

However, ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters said Addison is merely dealing with cramping, and Minnesota announced Addison was questionable to return. That was fortunate for the Vikings, who couldn’t afford any more injuries to their offensive core.

Addison eventually returned to the game after receiving fluids in the locker room.

Hockenson had been in and out of the lineup on Monday night and returned on the same play that took out Addison.

Meanwhile, Jefferson (hamstring) is on IR until at least Week 10, leaving Addison as Minnesota’s WR1 on a depth chart that also includes K.J. Osborn and Brandon Powell.

Addison has delivered tonight, posting six receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns. He entered Week 7 with a 22-277-4 line.

What Would the Vikings’ Offense Look Like Without Addison?

The Vikings’ group of pass catchers is starting to get very thin, with Addison getting banged up towards the end of the third quarter of their Monday Night Football matchup against the 49ers.

Addison was in the midst of a career night, catching six passes for 110 yards and two scores prior to his injury. If Addison misses any time in the future, Osborn, Powell, and Hockenson will likely see an even bigger role in the passing game with Jefferson already on IR.
