Fantasy TE Streamers and Rankings Week 8: Dalton Kincaid and Taysom Hill Headline TE Options

No teams are on bye this week, and that means you have a full pool of options when it comes to fantasy TE streamers. Who are the best adds?

Are we getting clarity when it comes to a tier of fantasy TE streamers? That’s not to say that the ranks after the elite are consistent, but we have a middle tier that has developed for fantasy football managers to choose from that can keep them competitive.

How does this tier stack up for Week 8? Can you trust some of these options for a few weeks, freeing you up mentally from the Tuesday night scaries that all streaming teams experience?

Top TE Streamers for Week 8

Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints (at Colts)

Like it or not, Taysom Hill has become a viable threat every week at the tight end position. He punched in a short score last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars on a direct snap, has 13 targets over the past two weeks, and is averaging over four carries per game.

If he was labeled as a WR, I wouldn’t really care about his unique usage, but as a TE, every touch elevates him up the tears at the toughest position to fill in fantasy sports (and yes, I spelled “tiers” wrong intentionally).

Hill serves no purpose to you if your roster is blessed with an elite producer at the TE position; he’s not a special Flex option, but if you’re in the streaming business, he’s an unquestioned target.

Could the well run dry? Of course, it could, and I believe it will with time. This offense as a whole is going to get healthy, and when that is the case, Hill’s role is the one that gets squeezed. Instead of cute designed Hill keepers, Jamaal Williams is plowing forward. Instead of a bubble screen to Hill on second and short, Derek Carr is looking to stretch the field.

You get the idea. But for right now? Right now, Hill is a fine answer to the question that we all hate to ask: “What am I doing at the TE position this week?”

Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills (vs. Buccaneers)

The rookie set season highs in catches (eight), targets (eight), yards (75), and fantasy points (11.5) in a breakout effort against the New England Patriots. Dawson Knox saw three targets and had a touchdown taken off the board, but it was clearly Kincaid as the first option in the passing game at the TE position.

Is he always going to catch 100% of his targets? No, but this team relies on two-WR sets, and that elevates the need for pass-catching prowess from their tight ends. Buffalo doesn’t have their bye until Week 13, so grabbing Kincaid gives you the potential to check “add a tight end” off of your Tuesday night to-do list for the next month or so.

Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Chargers (vs. Bears)

With a touchdown in consecutive weeks, Gerald Everett is emerging as an option in an offense that needs all the depth at pass catcher as they can get sans Mike Williams. Donald Parham is a red-zone threat, and that’s, of course, concerning when it comes to the sustainability of what Everett has done recently.

But there is no such thing as a TE streamer that comes without a flaw. Everett is an efficient playmaker on a team that will be among the highest in terms of implied total when this week kicks off. Best case? He continues to see high-value looks, and with the bye week in his rearview mirror, he produces at a high enough rate to stay on your roster.
