At this point, it’s probably not a good idea to doubt Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The man who seems to be able to do anything and everything on the football field is vocal about the fact that he’s not satisfied with his impact in life coming just from his work as a quarterback.
We have seen him dabble in ownership quite a bit so far, as he has a stake in the Kansas City Royals, Sporting Kansas City, a pickleball team, the NWSL’s Kansas City Current, and an Alpine F1 Team. With that all on his plate, including the pursuit of winning another Super Bowl championship, Mahomes isn’t quite done yet. He wants to try to be an NFL owner, too.
From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!
Patrick Mahomes Has Aspirations To Own an NFL Team
When speaking with reporters earlier this week, Mahomes was open about the fact he would like to add “NFL Owner” to his title and stated it is a goal of his to do so when his playing days are over.

“I love this sport and want to give back in any way possible,” Mahomes said. “When I’m done playing, obviously, I’ll be a Chiefs fan, but at the same time, I want to have that competitive edge I’ve always had my entire life.”

Mahomes mentions NFL great Tom Brady as someone who he is trying to emulate, and it’s certainly not limited to just what he does on the field. Not only is Mahomes one of the most prepared and talented quarterbacks in the NFL, but he’s smart in his preparation for his post-playing career as well.
The Chiefs QB has shown that he understands that his playing time in the NFL is finite, and he’s using his resources now to set himself up down the road. If it was up to him, that would lead to one day owning an NFL franchise.
Mahomes and the Chiefs Are Rolling
On the field, it’s been business as usual for Mahomes and Kansas City. After their Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions, the team has won five straight games to start the season 5-1.
He’ll look to prove once again that the Chiefs are one of the league’s best teams and are firmly in the mix for their second straight Super Bowl title.
