“You Should Know Better” – Eagles’ WR A.J. Brown Responds to Donovan McNabb’s Assessment of His Frustration

Donovan McNabb understands what it's like to be a star in Philadelphia, but Eagles WR A.J. Brown didn't appreciate his latest comments.

After scrapping their way to a 5-0 start, A.J. Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles suffered their first loss of the season Sunday afternoon. Facing a short-handed New York Jets squad with Zach Wilson under center, the Jets were able to stun the NFL world by handing the Eagles their first loss of the season.

Despite the fact that Philadelphia came into the weekend undefeated, the team hasn’t been perfect. The Eagles have had to fight and crawl their way to victories. And while they’ve been able to come out on top through the first five weeks, the Jets were able to catch them slipping in Week 6.

Fresh off a Super Bowl appearance, the Eagles lost both of their coordinators in the offseason and have to start fresh with two different play-callers this season. While Philadelphia is supremely talented at almost every spot, and although QB Jalen Hurts has a full array of pass catchers at his disposal, there has been some turmoil for the group to this point.

The most noticeable was the exchange between Brown and Hurts on the sideline last week, where it seemed like the two had a disagreement of sorts. And it certainly did not go unnoticed by the media and former Eagles players.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

    A.J. Brown Doesn’t Appreciate Donovan McNabb’s Comments

The latest to give their two cents on the sideline distraction was none other than Eagles great, Donovan McNabb. The former Philadelphia QB understands what it’s like to have to deal with wide receivers and what it can do for a team if the quarterback and his pass catchers aren’t on the same page.

Brown took exception to the comments and took to social media to let McNabb know how he felt about it.

Brown wanted to further reiterate that the moment was no big deal and that it was behind him and his team as they looked to move forward.

Even though Brown wants to put this topic to bed, he is critical of McNabb and his role within the media and how he’s able to further drive the conversation around the moment.

It’s fair to say that McNabb is just giving his opinion on the matter as a man who played in the same city for a long time and understands what it’s like to be under the same microscope.

What McNabb did is not wrong in any way, but it’s well within Brown’s right to feel like a former player should be looking out for current players — even if McNabb doesn’t necessarily agree.
