Who Are the 49ers-Vikings Announcers Tonight on MNF? Everything You Need To Know About the Broadcast

Who are the ESPN broadcasters in the booth for Monday Night Football tonight for the 49ers vs. Vikings? Is there a ManningCast tonight?

The San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings meet on Monday Night Football to end Week 7. You can watch the game on ABC and ESPN at 8:15 p.m. ET. This is the fifth time the teams have played on Monday Night Football, with the 49ers winning three of the four previous matchups.

The traditional broadcast with Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Lisa Salters will be on ABC and ESPN. Peyton and Eli Manning will be back for another ManningCast, the ESPN2 alternate broadcast, this week.

Buck and Aikman are in their 22nd season together in a broadcast booth; it’s a record-breaking season because they surpassed the legendary pair Pat Summerall and John Madden.

After working together as broadcasters for 20 years at FOX, Buck and Aikman are calling Monday Night Football on ESPN for a second season. They called 18 NFC Championship Games and six Super Bowls together at FOX. For their first three seasons working together at FOX, Cris Collinsworth joined Aikman and Buck in the booth.

Monday Night Countdown starts at 6:00 p.m. ET on ESPN with host Scott Van Pelt and former players Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, and Robert Griffin III providing analysis. Michelle Beisner-Buck and NFL insider Adam Schefter are also part of the show. A couple of weeks ago, Beisner-Buck and her husband, Joe Buck, hosted the show when Van Pelt was sick.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

Troy Aikman Has Playoff History With 49ers and Vikings

Aikman won four of six games against the 49ers and Vikings during his career as a quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys. Aikman completed 64.8% of his passes with six touchdowns and three interceptions in three NFC title games against the 49ers. He was knocked out of the 1993 game with a concussion. Dallas defeated San Francisco in the first two games, but the 49ers and quarterback Steve Young ended Dallas’ attempt to win three consecutive Super Bowl championships.

Aikman completed 41 of 67 passes with no touchdowns and two interceptions in two postseason games against the Vikings. The teams split the two games; the Cowboys’ win in 1996 was his final postseason win, and the Vikings’ win during the 1999 season was his final postseason game. Aikman was 11-4 as a starter in postseason games during his career.
