Bill Belichick Has Complete Meltdown on Sideline as Patriots Fall to 1-5

The Patriots continue to struggle this season, as they took a devastating loss to the Raiders and fell to 1-5. Bill Belichick has had enough.

The New England Patriots‘ struggles have continued through Week 6, as the team fell to 1-5 in a devastating 21-17 loss against the Raiders. Head coach Bill Belichick could not hold back his frustrations.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

    Bill Belichick’s Frustrations Mounting

A clearly angry Belichick had enough as he was seen throwing his tablet on the ground on the sideline during the fourth quarter of the Patriots’ matchup against the Raiders.

While New England was able to get some offense going on the ground as Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliott each scored a rushing touchdown, Mac Jones continued to disappoint. Jones threw for 200 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception and was sacked three times in the contest.

Jones struggled under pressure, at one point throwing the ball straight into the hands of Tre’von Moehrig for a pick instead of throwing the ball away. The interception received harsh criticism from fans and viewers. CBS announcer Tony Romo called it a “horrendous throw” on the broadcast.

Belichick was rightfully upset as nothing seemed to go right for New England late in the fourth quarter. With the chance to win the game on the drive, Stevenson had a five-yard first-down run called back by a holding penalty against Atonio Mafi.

After the holding penalty, DeVante Parker dropped a pass from Jones, and New England was then penalized for a delay of game. On the next play, Maxx Crosby sacked Jones in the end zone for a safety, sealing the win for the Raiders.

The Patriots have yet to score more than 20 points in a game this season, and Jones’ performance has not met expectations. In their previous two games, the Patriots were outscored 72-3, and the team desperately needed a comeback win.

The video of Belichick slamming his tablet to the ground seems to encapsulate the beginning of this season for the Patriots perfectly. The team will likely struggle again to find a win next week as they take on the Bills.
