Breece Hall’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

The Jets’ second-year star is coming off his best game of the season thus far, a 177-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Denver Broncos. Hall looked the best he’s been since returning from a torn ACL. However, this week Hall faces a much better defense in the Philadelphia Eagles. Nick Sirianni’s defense is headlined by a stout defensive front, arguably the best in the NFL.

Although Philadelphia’s pass defense hasn’t been great to start the season, the run defense has remained elite. The Eagles are allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing rushers this season, making this week a tough matchup for Hall and the rest of the Jets’ running backs.

It’s hard to keep Hall on your bench, though, even in a tough fantasy tilt against the Eagles. Hall is the Jets’ most explosive offensive weapon and is a touchdown threat every time he touches the football. Last week was his first week not on a snap count post-injury — he responded by turning in the best game of his professional career. Expect the Jets to do anything they can to get Hall going on Sunday in Philadelphia.

Brian Robinson Jr.’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

Like Hall, Robinson Jr. is another second-year back who’s received the majority of the workload this season. Robinson started the 2023 season on an excellent foot, scoring three touchdowns over the first two games and was the RB5 overall in fantasy after Week 2.

However, the last three weeks have been tough for the former Alabama standout, as he’s scored double-digit fantasy points in just one of those outings.

This week poses another difficult task for the Commanders RB, as Washington travels down to Atlanta to take on a Falcons defense that is currently allowing the fewest fantasy points to running backs this year.

Robinson is also coming off a disappointing outing last week against the Chicago Bears, where he scored just 8.3 PPR points against a defense that running backs had feasted against in earlier weeks.

Robinson has the potential to have a good fantasy game every week based on pure volume, but he’s a tough start this week against Atlanta.

Which of the RBs Should You Start?

When deciding between two running backs who have difficult fantasy matchups, I usually tend to lean toward starting the better player overall. In this case, that would be Hall, who simply provides a higher upside than Robinson every week regardless of matchup.

Hall is coming off his best game of his career, while Robinson just turned in a rough outing against the Bears. The two running backs are trending in opposite directions. It’s the Jets’ star who you want in your lineup this week.
