The first week of the inaugural XFL season has come and gone, and the Against the Spread hosts are ready to turn the page on Week 1. We witnessed some surprising results in the first four games, with some teams rising to the occasion while others crumbled under the pressure of it all. Ryan was once again disappointed by a Dallas team, while Jason enjoyed a New York Guardian victory, both for in his bank account and person. Taking a look at XFL’s Week 2 betting odds, the gentlemen give their best bets and a preview of their DFS lineups.
After a disappointing showing at home, the Dallas Renegades will be traveling to Los Angeles to take on the named Wildcats. Dallas will be getting back their starting quarterback in Landry Jones, while the Wildcats will also have their starter, Josh Johnson, under center for the first time. The Wildcats decided not only to fire their defensive coordinator after the first week, but they also cut their defensive captain. The team seems to already be in a tailspin, and the Renegades with their air raid offense is not what you want to see after a defensive rehaul. Ryan jumps back onto the Dallas bandwagon in what he sees as an offensive explosion.
Jason also goes into great detail regarding his new DFS strategy, and how he will use it to increase his current $25 Draftkings account. A hint? He will be moving away from the current running back FLEX and putting more time into analyzing another position on the depth chart. This week, he is looking to play several Houston Roughneck players in what he sees as the highest-scoring game of the week. Houston is at home against the surprising Battlehawks. Will Philip Walker have another huge game?
