Who Are the Amazon Announcers Tonight? Taylor Swift Frenzy Comes to Thursday Night Football

Tonight’s Thursday Night Football game between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs will be on Amazon Prime. Kickoff will be at 8:15 p.m. ET, and the pregame show starts at 7 p.m. Who will be announcing the Week 6 matchup?

Taylor Swift will not be streaming the game because she will be attending the game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

Who Will Be Announcing the Broncos and Chiefs Broadcast Tonight?

Al Michaels will be doing play-by-play, with Kirk Herbstreit providing analysis and Kaylee Hartung reporting from the sidelines.

Charissa Thompson hosts the pregame show that features former NFL players Richard Sherman, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew Whitworth, and Tony Gonzalez.

Amazon Prime is your only option to watch the game, except if you live in Denver and Kansas City, where the game will be available on a local broadcast network.

How Amazon Will Cover Taylor Swift

Michaels told Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina that the broadcast will cover Taylor Swift in “moderation” tonight. Michaels: “Our crew talked about it this morning. The vast majority of the audience are tuning in to watch a football game. There are people; I don’t know how many; it could be a sizable number, but it’s certainly not a majority.”

Michaels told Traina he doesn’t know how many shots there will be of Swift, and the way the game plays out will dictate part of the coverage. He added, “If Kelce scores six touchdowns, who the hell knows what we’re going to do?”

This will be the third time we’ve seen her at a Chiefs game this season. FOX had the first game in Kansas City in Week 3, and NBC broadcasted the game at the New York Jets in Week 4. NBC put more emphasis on Swift than FOX did, including using a Swift song to promote the game on social media. Carson Daly provided a Taylor Swift-themed preview of the Jets and Chiefs right before kickoff.

A Chiefs Legend Is Part of Amazon Broadcast

In the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft with the 13th overall pick, the Chiefs selected Tony Gonzalez, a football and basketball player at the University of California. Gonzalez went on to become one of the best players in franchise history during his 12 seasons in Kansas City. He was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Honor in 2018.

Gonzalez went on to become one of the best players in franchise history during his 12 seasons in Kansas City. He caught 916 passes for 10,940 yards and 76 touchdowns with the Chiefs as he made the Pro Bowl in his last 10 seasons with the team.

He is the franchise leader for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches at the moment. Tight end Travis Kelce is 75 catches, 374 receiving yards, and four touchdown receptions behind Gonzalez. All three records are within reach for Kelce in the last 11 games of this season.

Gonzalez, who played the last five seasons of his career with the Falcons, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019. He is in the top eight in NFL history for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches.
