Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been named the AFC Player of the Week following his performance at Arizona on Sunday.
Chase set the franchise record with 15 receptions for 192 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-20 victory against the Cardinals. The 192 yards are the third-highest of Chase’s career, and the three touchdowns tie the most he’s had in a game.

How Many AFC Player of the Week Awards Has Ja’Marr Chase Earned?
This is Chase’s first Player of the Week award since Week 17, 2021, when he also scored three touchdowns while catching 11 passes and setting the franchise record with 266 yards in a 34-31 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.

It is the third Player of the Week honor overall for Chase, who also won one in Week 7 of his rookie season in 2021 with eight catches for 201 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-17 trouncing at Baltimore.
Chase’s performance Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., including touchdown receptions of 2, 3, and 63 yards, helped him etch his name not only in Cincinnati history but the NFL record book as well.
The three Player of the Week awards tie Chase with Joe Mixon and Corey Dillon for the second-most in franchise history by a non-quarterback. James Brooks has the most with four.

Boomer Esiason has the most in team history among all players with nine, while Joe Burrow owns five.
Carlos Dunlap has the most Defensive Player of the Week awards in team history with five.
With 15 catches for 192 yards and three touchdowns, Chase has a chance to set more NFL and Cincinnati records Sunday against the Seahawks.
The record for the most receptions in a two-game span belongs to former New York Jets running back Clark Gaines, who had 29 in 1980. Chase already is tied with T.J. Houshmandzadeh for the Bengals record with 22.

The record for most receiving yards in back-to-back games is probably out of reach, with former Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon setting it in 2013 with 498. Even the Cincinnati record seems unlikely, as Chad Johnson owns that with 450 yards (260 vs. the Chargers and 190 vs. the Saints in 2006).
Chase would need another three-touchdown day to tie the team and NFL record of six. Carl Pickens did it for the Bengals in 1996, with three each against the Jaguars and Falcons.
Seven other players have achieved it, including Jerry Rice three times (1987, 1990, 1993). Also on the list are Harold Jackson (1973), Ahmad Rashad (1979), Sterling Sharpe (1994), Randy Moss (1998), Drew Bennett (2004) and Terrell Owens (2007).
