    Injury Updates

Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs

Analysis last updated at 4:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, 12.

Fantasy managers and Swifties alike held their breath when TE Travis Kelce went down on Sunday in what looked like a non-contact injury. Non-contact injuries never seem to end well, and as Kelce limped off the field and headed to the locker room, we all expected the worst.

Not only did Kelce return to the game, he ended the the day with 67 yards and one TD. It was reported that it was a low ankle sprain. The Kansas City Chiefs did not practice Monday, and Kelce was an estimated DNP. However, on Tuesday, he practiced in a limited capacity with his ankle heavily taped. He was limited again on Wednesday and listed as questionable on the Chiefs’ final injury report.

According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Kelce is expected to be on the field Thursday with his ankle heavily taped. There is a reasonably large risk of re-injury, so Kelce is a dangerous option to trust for fantasy managers this week.

Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Analysis last updated at 4:50 p.m. ET on Thursday, October 12.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Mike Evans have been surprisingly delightful after four weeks. Their bye came just in time last week, as Evans went down in Week 4 to a hamstring injury after only catching three passes.

On Monday, Evans returned to limited practice, working on the sidelines with trainers, not wearing pads. However, on Wednesday, Evans was not present during the portion of practice open to the media. He was ultimately a non-participant in the Wednesday report. Monitor the rest of the reports this week to see if Evans looks good to go on Sunday against Detroit. If he is sidelined, expect more from Chris Godwin.

An initial report had Evans sitting out Thursday. However, he was listed as a limited participant in practice by the Buccaneers. This is a promising sign on his track to playing Sunday.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions

Analysis last updated at 1:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, 11.

After a solid first four weeks and currently sitting at WR21, the Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown missed Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers due to an abdomen injury. St. Brown did not practice at all last week, so at least managers were prepared, and Josh Reynolds and Sam LaPorta had big days with him sidelined.

Head coach Dan Campbell said today that he feels “pretty good about the possibility of him playing this week.” That was emphasized by St. Brown being able to return to practice to start the week. Barring any setbacks, he should be on track to play in Week 6.
