Fantasy Week 6 TE Start/Sit: Top Options Include Logan Thomas and George Kittle

Looking ahead to Week 6, which TEs should be in line to start for fantasy football managers, and who should be considered as a sit?

Bye weeks are underway across the league, which means fantasy football managers who have been relying on Luke Musgrave will have to go in a different direction at the TE position for their upcoming fantasy matchup.

Here are some of my start/sit options at the TE position for Week 6 of NFL action.

    Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders

It has been a bit of an up-and-down season for Logan Thomas in 2023.

His touchdown reception back in Week 2 came on the same play that he sustained a concussion on, which caused him to miss the next game.

Then, after a modest day of production in Week 4, Thomas exploded for seven receptions, 77 yards, and a score against the Bears last Thursday. This week, he is set to face off against an Atlanta Falcons defense that has allowed an average of 13 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season.

Which TEs Should You Sit in Fantasy This Week?

    George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers’ pass-catching trio of George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk are all taking turns having monster fantasy performances in 2023.

Last week, Kittle went off for three touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys. The week before that, Aiyuk caught six passes for 148 yards. The week before that, it was Samuel who went for 129 yards and a score. Do you see the point I’m trying to make here?

This week, in particular, may be tricky for all three gifted playmakers when they face off against a Cleveland Browns defense who have given up just 10.8 fantasy points per game to opposing WRs (1st) and 5.7 fantasy PPG to opposing TEs (T-5th).

Given the very tough matchup and volatile nature of these pass catchers, Kittle may be worth considering fading this week if you have other quality options.

Should You Start Logan Thomas or Kyle Pitts?

There was finally a Kyle Pitts sighting in this passing offense that we can get excited about. Now ask yourself, do you believe Ridder can build off of the first 300-yard passing game of his NFL career? To put it kindly, I’m a little skeptical.

While I am certainly encouraged by Pitts’ performance in Week 5, I still want to see more from the Falcons passing game before starting him over Thomas, who is coming off of his best game of the season against the Bears. I’m going with Thomas, given these two options.

Should You Start George Kittle or Sam LaPorta?

Kittle had a monster fantasy performance against the Cowboys in Week 5, but Sam LaPorta has been the more consistent fantasy option at the TE position this season.

Not to mention, Kittle has the tougher matchup against the Browns, which means I’m more confident starting LaPorta this week.
