The TE position remains the weakest in fantasy football. That makes trading for tight ends exceedingly difficult. Unraveling all that we saw in Week 5 and translating it into Week 6 TE trade targets is where fantasy managers can differentiate themselves.
To help you get your head around it all, here are our thoughts on some tight ends to buy low or sell high entering Week 6.

Which TEs Should You Trade for in Fantasy Football?
Katz’s Other Week 6 Trade Targets: QB | RB | WR
Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars
Evan Engram may not be a buy-low candidate in the traditional sense of the term, but he’s still a buy. There are very few reliable tight ends this season. Engram hasn’t had any big games, but he’s seen eight targets in four straight games. He’s the definition of reliable.
Engram caught four passes for 28 yards against the Buffalo Bills. He’s yet to score a touchdown. He is worth buying as a solid, floor-based TE1.
Which TEs Should You Trade Away in Fantasy Football?
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
I’m including Kyle Pitts here for a second consecutive week for two reasons: 1) There isn’t any tight end that’s truly a sell high, and 2) Pitts just had his best game of the season, catching seven of 11 targets for 87 yards.

There’s no reason to think this is the start of a trend. The Atlanta Falcons remain a run-heavy team, and Desmond Ridder remains one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the league.
Last week, we were talking about Pitts as a drop candidate. But the hype on him has been so great that it’s possible someone in your league sees this performance and buys right back in. If that manager is out there, sell.

Should You Trade Pitts for Darren Waller?
Here, we have two players with a ton of talent who were floundering up until a Week 5 bounce back. It’s been very similar seasons for Pitts and Darren Waller.
The difference between the two is that Waller is very clearly his team’s top tight end. Waller has seen a 90% snap share the past two weeks, while Pitts is playing behind Jonnu Smith.
Neither Pitts nor Waller is going to live up to draft day expectations. But Waller is the more valuable fantasy asset. If you can turn Pitts into Waller, do it. However, I wouldn’t be champing at the bit to trade for any tight end. So, if it costs too much to do so, then don’t bother.
Should You Trade Jake Ferguson for Engram?
This one is a resounding yes. If you can somehow turn Jake Ferguson into Engram, do it.
No one is accepting that deal straight up, but there’s a world where you can add something reasonable to the Ferguson side to upgrade to Engram.

I do like Ferguson as a back-end TE1 going forward. The Dallas Cowboys will find themselves in more normal game scripts eventually. Even with last week’s dud, Ferguson has still seen seven targets in three of five games.
He’s the TE1 on a team with no clear second option in the passing game behind CeeDee Lamb. Ferguson is going to be fine, but Engram is the very rare high-floor TE1. Given the state of the tight end position, that is more valuable than usual. Engram is well worth acquiring.
