It’s always difficult to properly value the quarterback position in fantasy football for trading purposes. Five weeks into the season, values have shifted dramatically. Unraveling all that we saw in Week 5 and translating it into Week 6 QB trade targets is where fantasy managers can differentiate themselves.
To help you get your head around it all, here are our thoughts on some QBs to buy low or sell high entering Week 6.

Which QBs Should You Trade for in Fantasy Football?
Katz’s Other Week 6 Trade Targets: RB | WR | TE
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
I’ve seen enough from Trevor Lawrence to know he’s just fine. Lawrence looked very good against a tough Buffalo Bills defense, throwing for over 300 yards in the win.
The main problem with Lawrence’s fantasy production has been a lack of touchdowns. He hasn’t thrown for multiple touchdowns since Week 1; that is bound to regress.
Travis Etienne Jr. won’t be taking all of the touchdowns every week. The spike weeks are coming. If Lawrence’s manager is frustrated at the underwhelming production, try and explore a trade if you need a QB.
Which QBs Should You Trade Away in Fantasy Football?
Justin Fields, Chicago Bears
Justin Fields has now thrown for four touchdowns in consecutive games. Last Thursday, he also tossed in some rushing, specifically 57 yards on 11 carries.

I’m not saying you must sell Fields. But he’s been the best quarterback in fantasy football over the past two weeks. He looks like 2022 Fields, except he’s doing it mostly through the air.
If you can sell Fields as a top-three fantasy QB, it’s worth doing. However, Fields isn’t strictly a sell-at-all-costs guy anymore. I’ve seen enough to believe what he’s doing is somewhat sustainable.

Should You Trade Justin Fields for Patrick Mahomes?
Through five weeks, Patrick Mahomes has been surprisingly middling for fantasy purposes. The Chiefs have won four straight games, and Mahomes has played well, but those otherworldly fantasy outings have yet to surface. Justin Fields just put on back-to-back otherworldly performances.

From a fantasy perspective, we know Fields’ ceiling is just as high, if not higher, than Mahomes. When he’s clicking and running, it’s difficult for anyone other than Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, or Lamar Jackson to compete with him. But do we buy it?
Fields’ last two games were incredibly favorable spots against the Washington Commanders and Denver Broncos. Fortunately, his next three are just as good, facing the Minnesota Vikings, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. Fields could very well continue this hot streak.
Mahomes could be set to go nuclear, though. He’s got the Broncos, Chargers, Broncos, and Miami Dolphins coming up. The Broncos have the worst defense in the NFL, and the games against the Chargers and Dolphins could be epic shootouts. None of those defenses have provided much in the form of resistance through one month.
Mahomes is clearly hindered by the Kansas City Chiefs having a bottom-five WR corps and Travis Kelce being banged up, but I have confidence that the best ever to do it will figure it out. Make this move if you can.
Should You Trade Brock Purdy for Trevor Lawrence?
Imagine asking this question in early September. I can’t.
Brock Purdy just had his toughest test of the season against the Dallas Cowboys’ elite defense. He responded by throwing for four touchdowns.
Purdy has now scored at least 20 fantasy points in three straight games. The next time Trevor Lawrence does that will be the first.
While I do think Lawrence is playing well and a turnaround is coming, Purdy’s track record since taking over as the San Francisco 49ers starter is undeniable. He is the truth and a surefire QB1 in fantasy. At this point, I would not be trading away Purdy to get Lawrence.
