Raheem Mostert’s Fantasy Outlook This Week

Raheem Mostert is a stud running back in Mike McDaniel’s offense, that is for sure. If Mostert is the lead back, he will dominate. His Week 2 performance of 18 carries for 121 yards and two touchdowns is proof of that.

If he is the lead back in Week 5 vs. the 25th fantasy running back defense in the Giants, he will smash — he could even put up a top-five performance. Unfortunately, I do not see him as the lead back anymore. His health profile, age, and contract make sense for him to take a back seat to De’Von Achane moving forward. This is a luxury the other 31 teams would kill for.

De’Von Achane Fantasy Outlook This Week

Achane is the first rookie running back since 2012 to have 100+ yards and two touchdowns in back-to-back games and is the leading rusher in the AFC, even though he has essentially played two games. Achane is our 12th-ranked running back due to the uncertainty in the roles he and Mostert will play. If we knew it was the Achane show, then he would be ranked in the top five this week.

Which of the Dolphins Running Back Should You Start?

The correct answer may be both. To truly answer the questions, a fantasy manager must make a choice on which running back will be the lead back and if the potential return of Jeff Wilson matters. I believe that Achane is the lead back, and Wilson does not matter at the moment.

Start Achane with confidence, and if you don’t have him, you can start Mostert as a Flex or RB2 since there should be a lot of touches to go around in Week 5.
