Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has shown no signs of slowing down, even as the NFL’s oldest head coach. Carroll is one of the most enthusiastic people you will ever meet. If “live your life to the fullest” was a person, it would be Carroll.
Carroll has a long, storied coaching career expanding six decades and has built dynasties at multiple levels of football. Coaching is a profession that brings burnout. Many coaches have retired much earlier than you would think. How has Carroll lasted the tale of time?
Carroll was an excellent athlete in his own right. He was a three-sport athlete throughout high school, playing football, baseball, and basketball. Carroll played QB, WR, and DB, earning a look at the collegiate level at the University of Pacific, playing the safety position.

I talked to @PeteCarroll the afternoon the @Seahawks dealt the @Lions their only loss. You could tell how excited (and relieved) he was to get out of Detroit with a win.

When Did Carroll Start Coaching the Seahawks?
The Seahawks hired Carroll as their head coach in 2010. Carroll enters his 14th season as the Seahawk’s headman. He is not only the head coach but also the franchise’s Executive Vice President. The Seahawks were mired in mediocrity before Carroll took over.

Carroll built the Seahawks into a perennial playoff contender, including back-to-back Super Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl Championship over Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. Had it not been for a Russell Wilson interception in the end zone, the Seahawks would have won back-to-back titles.

Carroll and the Seahawk’s front office took a chance on Wilson in the third round of the NFL Draft.
Wilson was bypassed by many franchises due to his lack of height, standing at 5’10”. Not many QBs sustain success at the NFL level at that height, but Wilson bucked the trend and rewarded the Seahawks organization for selecting him.
Carroll also built the Seahawks defense into the top unit in the NFL.
The Seahawks were led by MLB Bobby Wagner, one of the better tacklers in the league, and the Legion of Doom — the best secondary in recent memory, anchored by CB Richard Sherman and S Earl Thomas.
Top 15. Pete Carroll 😤
Seahawks are so lucky to have this man. Can’t believe the hate he gets at times. He is truly one of the best to EVER do it.

The Seahawks never strayed away from their physical ground game. OT Walter Jones and G Steve Hutchinson mauled people up front. Seattle was notorious for a strong rushing presence from the days of Shaun Alexander to Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch.
