WATCH: Kirk Cousins Gets Demolished After Throwing 99-Yard Pick-Six

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins was involved with an infamous miscue versus the Carolina Panthers and had his critics out in full force.

A house call involved Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 down in Charlotte. Except for the multiple Pro Bowl quarterback, he was on the wrong end of a 99-yard pick-six.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

Kirk Cousins Demolished for ‘House Call’ Versus Carolina Panthers

Here’s what occurred: Cousins, inside the Carolina Panthers‘ 5-yard line, had three receivers to his right inside the end zone. But, safety Sam Franklin reads it perfectly.

Then, as Cousins galloped to get one last angle on Franklin, he somehow slowed himself up only to get blasted to the turf.

The end result? A 99-yard interception for the winless Panthers. And Franklin got into the franchise record books courtesy of Cousins and the Vikings.

    Cousins Critiqued for Effort

Again, Franklin’s franchise record gallop wasn’t the only thing discussed for fans watching the Vikings/Panthers. So was the pursuit Cousins tried to attempt.

D’Shawn Jamison was the one who planted Cousins to the ground. For one fan, he had memories of DK Metcalf chasing down Budda Baker during one renowned interception involving both men in 2020.

Another fan on the side of the Green Bay Packers called it a “chef’s kiss” moment for the rival quarterback Cousins.

One fan, though, offered this suggestion: Minnesota finally dealing away the four-time Pro Bowl selection to a team that’s been in the spotlight regarding their QB conundrum — the New York Jets.

“The Vikings should trade Kirk Cousins to the Jets, get a 2nd round pick and bank on getting Caleb Williams in next years draft,” the fan said on X (formerly known as Twitter), as he envisioned the USC star and Heisman Trophy winner being a guy worth building around All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Cousins has long faced scrutiny about his future with the Vikes as he enters a contract year. Him being on the wrong side of a house call has engulfed new thoughts that it’s time for Minnesota to move on from their veteran franchise passer.
