Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch exited Thursday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers midway through the third quarter. Here’s what we know right now.
Brian Branch Injury Update
Branch, the 45th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was engaged in a block when he went down. He was tended to on the field before being helped off. Branch was then seen heading to the locker room on a cart.
The Lions announced that he was questionable to return with an ankle injury.
Branch then came out of the locker room and was seen having his right ankle taped up a little past midway through the third quarter.
Branch then returned to the game early in the fourth quarter.
Branch appeared to be shaken up again later in the fourth quarter and walked off the field gingerly, though under his own power.
Branch, a key part of Detroit’s defense, entered the game as the Lions’ third-leading tackler with 18 total stops (16 solo), including three tackles for a loss, along with three pass breakups and one interception returned for a touchdown.
