The Green Bay Packers already have a critical NFC North showdown on Thursday vs. a team that many analysts and fans believe is the division favorite, the Detroit Lions.
It’s also the same Lions team that denied the Pack a playoff berth a year ago. But there’s a looming question surrounding Green Bay: Will Aaron Jones be available despite his injury?
From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!
Update on Aaron Jones Revealed on Wednesday Ahead of the Lions Game
Via NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero on Wednesday afternoon, Jones’ status is still uncertain. He is among six key injuries on the Packers’ side.
“Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring), WR Christian Watson (hamstring) and CB Jaire Alexander (back) are questionable for Thursday’s game against Detroit, while LT David Bakhtiari (knee), G Elgton Jenkins (knee) and LB De’Vondre Campbell (ankle) are out,” Pelissero announced on X.

Jones was not in the lineup vs. the Saints despite making a practice attempt to play. Green Bay managed to gain 95 rushing yards without him in the come-from-behind 18-17 win in Week 3.
In his absence, quarterback Jordan Love ended up being leading the team with 39 rushing yards on nine carries.
Fantasy Impact of Jones Dealing With Injury
PFN’s Jason Katz wrote how Jones is part of a big RB injury challenge that fantasy football managers have had to navigate this season.
“Suffice it to say the running back position has been a challenge in fantasy football this year. Jones sure looked like an RB1 in Week 1, but it’s only a one-game sample size,” Katz said. “Interestingly enough, what has transpired in the NFL in Jones’ absence has only increased his value.”
Overall, Katz still believes Jones is a top-15 performer in the fantasy realm.
“Our PFN Consensus Rankings don’t go live until after the current week ends, so we don’t yet have our Week 4 rankings up. However, you can firmly expect Jones to be ranked in the top 12. If he plays on Thursday, fantasy managers should have no reservations about inserting him back into lineups.”
