Anthony Richardson Injury Update: Latest Update on the Colts QB

    Published on

Will Anthony Richardson suit up for Week 4 after missing Week 3 due to a concussion? Here's the latest on the Indianapolis Colts QB.

In the Indianapolis Colts‘ Week 2 matchup against the Texans, rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson hit the back of his head and looked to have suffered a concussion during his second rushing touchdown of the game.

    Latest News Surrounding Anthony Richardson

Richardson missed Sunday’s game against the Ravens and remains in concussion protocol.

After the hit in the first quarter, Richardson re-entered the game before reporting any concussion symptoms but left the field in the second quarter and did not return.

So far this season, Richardson has completed 30 of 47 passes for 279 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Gardner Minshew led the Colts to a Week 3 win competing 27 of 44 passes for 227 yards. If Richardson were to miss action in Week 4, Minshew would once again step in as the starter.

    Fantasy Fallout From Richardson’s Injury

The Gardner Minshew-led Colts of Week 3 weren’t that dissimilar from the offense led by Richardson, with the exception of one player: Josh Downs. The third-round pick saw 16.7% of targets through two weeks before seeing his usage explode to 28.6% in the upset win over the Ravens.

The rookie was clearly a comfort option for Minshew, something we’d project to sustain in Week 4 against the Rams, who will be on short rest. He won’t crack the top 35 at the position regardless of the quarterback, but he is the player whose rank will change the most depending on who is under center to start this weekend.
