Week 3 of the NFL season featured a stacked Sunday slate that came to an end when the Pittsburgh Steelers took on the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday Night Football. The Steelers looking for a win to stay relevant in a tough AFC North division. The Raiders, playing their home opener, also needed a win to compete with teams like the Chiefs and Chargers.

11:24 p.m. ET: The gamble did not pay off for the Raiders as the Steelers were able to get just enough first downs to run this clock down to less than 30 seconds. Jimmy G. then threw an INTERCEPTION to end the game.

11:18 p.m. ET: In what is an interesting decision, the Raiders settled for a FIELD GOAL to cut the lead to five. Now, Las Vegas needs a defensive stop to have any chance of winning this game.
11:10 p.m. ET: The Raiders have life! After cutting the lead to just eight, the Raiders forced a three-and-out. The Steelers had no choice but to punt, and decided to wait until nearly the end of the game to struggle in the kicking game. After a short kick, the Raiders were able to bring the ball all the way out to the 50-yard line. If the Raiders can score, we might have a tie game with a little less than four minutes to go.
11:00 p.m. ET: Well, now we have a game. The Raiders, behind Jacobs finally finding his footing and multiple penalties (including a very questionable roughing the passer), managed to score their second TOUCHDOWN of the night. Guess who got this one? You got it, Adams with his second of the night. Although it hasn’t been pretty for the offense as a whole, Adams has put up MONSTER numbers. He now has 160 yards to go alongside his two scores.
10:45 p.m. ET: With the pressure now on Vegas, Garoppolo starts airing it out. Adams has already seen over double-digit targets tonight. However, after their drive started strong, it once again ended with no points. On a short 4th-and-5, the Raiders failed to convert. The ball now goes back to the Steelers but this one already feels out of reach with over 10 minutes left to play.
Third Quarter: Steelers 23, Raiders 7
10:27 p.m. ET: With a little over three minutes left in the third quarter, the Steelers offense continues to click. After some big runs by both Harris and Jaylen Warren, Pickett connects with Pat Freiermuth in the endzone for a TOUCHDOWN. Pittsburgh extends their lead to 16!
10:22 p.m. ET: Garoppolo trying desperately to get something going for Vegas. Unfortunately, he tried a bit too hard on this drive and threw an INTERCEPTION to the league’s oldest corner in Patrick Peterson.
10:20 p.m. ET: Drive once again ends with a FIELD GOAL. This one, however, was a bit more impressive at 57-yards.
10:11 p.m. ET: Steelers offense continues to click. Pickett connected with George Pickens on a 32-yard pass. Pittsburgh is closing in on the redzone again.
10:05 p.m. ET: Garoppolo has returned for the second half of the game. The first play? A bomb to Adams that nearly got his best player severely injured. Adams made a play on the ball but got rocked by a Steelers defender in midfield. Three-and-out for the Raiders.

Second Quarter: Steelers 13, Raiders 7
9:41 p.m. ET: After another stalled drive from the Raiders, the Steelers started to roll. Pickett showed off his legs, but the drive ended with another FIELD GOAL. Right before the half, Raiders QB Jimmy G was tackled awkwardly and left the game with an injury. We will see if he returns in the second half.
9:24 p.m. ET: We have a FIELD GOAL from the Steelers. Pittsburgh is now up 10-7.
9:20 p.m. ET: The Steelers are marching! Najee Harris is starting to get this ground game going and the away team are knocking on the door for another TD. Speaking of the away team, sure doesn’t look like a home game for the Raiders. Steelers fans traveled! 9:15 p.m. ET: Game wrecker and arguably the best defensive player in the game T.J. Watt pressured Garoppolo on a crucial third down. The pressure caused Garoppolo to panic and throw an INTERCEPTION to Levi Wallace.
First Quarter: Steelers 7, Raiders 7
9:05 p.m. ET: After exchanging TDs, both teams followed suit with three-and-outs. Not much to highlight besides a fifth catch from Adams. Oh, and in other news, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift left the Chiefs game together. Something everyone seems to care about.
8:52 p.m. ET: Woah, more fireworks! On the very next drive, Kenny Pickett launches the ball downfield to the speedy Clavin Austin. Austin scores a 72-yard TOUCHDOWN!
8:46 p.m. ET: “A dice roll in Vegas for SIX!” What a great play call by Josh McDaniels. On a 4th-and-short, instead of running a simple QB sneak, Garoppolo’s play action led to a 40-yard TOUCHDOWN to Adams. Adams is a big fan of SNF, with this being his 13th straight with a TD. Raiders strike first!

8:41 p.m. ET: After another dud from the Steelers, the Raiders got the ball back. After a nice 9-yard catch by Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs fumbled on the 40-yard line. Luckily for Las Vegas, the play was overturned and the Raiders drive continues.
8:28 p.m. ET: Jimmy Garoppolo got the ball for the first time. And although they tried to do more than just run the ball, it still ended in a three-and-out. The Raiders send it back to the Steelers. A flag also wiped away a good return, so the Steelers get the ball near the 30.
8:25 p.m. ET: Before the game started, the announcers highlighted that we were going to be watching an old-school style of football tonight when the Steelers and Raiders faced off. Well, if that first drive was an example of what we are going to see, it might be a long night for fans of scoring. The Steelers ran the ball three times and then punted.

Bearman: People can say it was “Steelers football” or “Steelers DNA” or whatever they want for Monday night’s win over the Cleveland Browns, but I saw it as Deshaun Watson handing them the game and Pittsburgh getting bailed out.

The Steelers’ offense did next to nothing, with a total of 255 yards, 71 of which came on their lone offensive scoring play. Play like that again tonight, and it’ll be all Las Vegas.

Blewis: Pittsburgh needed two defensive touchdowns to beat Cleveland last week. After the Steelers’ starting offense scored a touchdown on every drive in the preseason, the narrative has completely flipped. So far this season, they’re only averaging 247 yards per game.
Josh Jacobs should have a bounce-back game against a Steelers run defense without Cam Heyward, allowing the Raiders to play ball-control football.
I got the under while it was at 43.5, but I would still play it at this number. Keep fading the Steelers’ offense while you can, especially when they’re due for regression in turnover luck.
