Perhaps no team in the AFC has looked better through two weeks than the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins have started the season with two road victories against the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots. They’re currently in first place in the AFC East and one of two teams in the AFC, along with the Baltimore Ravens, to be 2-0.
After throwing for 715 yards on 9.5 yards per attempt through the first two weeks of the season, Tua Tagovailoa is the new betting favorite to win NFL MVP. Tyreek Hill is also on pace for a career season, averaging 127.5 yards per game. He’s now the Offensive Player of the Year favorite.
Sitting at 2-0, the Dolphins have the sixth-shortest Super Bowl odds, trailing only the San Francisco 49ers (+650), Kansas City Chiefs (+700), Philadelphia Eagles (+750), Dallas Cowboys (+750), and Buffalo Bills (+1000).
The Dolphins have certainly made a big impression not only on their fans and oddsmakers but bettors as well. Earlier today, BetMGM reported a huge Dolphins Super Bowl bet that would return well over $1 million dollars if they win their third Lombardi Trophy.

Dolphins Super Bowl Bet: Bettor Could Win $1.6 Million
There will perhaps be no bigger Dolphins fan than this bettor at BetMGM for the rest of the 2023 season. Not only did they place a $100,000 wager on the Dolphins to win the Super Bowl, but they put another $60,000 on Tua to win NFL MVP as well. That’s a lot of money.

With how good the Dolphins have looked, one could argue that these are smart bets, but this bettor is paying a premium on both of these futures tickets.
A $100,000 Dolphins Super Bowl bet from before the season would be worth almost double the value of their ticket at $2.5 million. Meanwhile, a $60,000 Tua MVP wager made prior to Week 1 would be worth more than four times as much as theirs. Hindsight, of course, is 20/20, however.
This bettor is also hoping history repeats itself. Last season, the Kansas City Chiefs took home both the Super Bowl and MVP trophies, as Patrick Mahomes was voted the league’s Most Valuable Player. But before last season, there was a 22-year drought of the NFL MVP being on that season’s Super Bowl champion.

Prior to Mahomes, the last regular-season MVP to win the Super Bowl was Kurt Warner and the Los Angeles Rams. Overall, 11 players in NFL history have won the Super Bowl and MVP in the same season.
