Injury Updates for Top Fantasy Football WRs
Here is the latest news on fantasy-relevant wide receivers at the start of Week 3.
Zay Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jags WR Zay Jones injured his knee in the loss to the Chiefs in Week 2. Jones left the game in the first half and later returned. Jones will not practice on Wednesday and will be day-to-day. The Jags play the Texans this week, and if Jones cannot take the field, expect even more targets to head Calvin Ridley’s way.
Brandin Cooks, Dallas Cowboys
Taking on the winless Arizona Cardinals this week, the Dallas Cowboys might get back WR Brandin Cooks. Cooks sat out Week 2 with a knee injury, but he practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and could play this week.

Cooks told reporters that he is “great” and expects to play on Sunday.
Amari Cooper, Cleveland Browns
After surprising many fantasy managers on Monday by playing, Amari Cooper did not practice on Wednesday. Cooper led the team in targets and receiving yards on Monday, but he is listed with a shoulder and groin issue on the Browns’ injury report.
Update: Cooper returned to practice for the Browns on Thursday.
DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks
DK Metcalf took a big shot to the ribs on Sunday, and even though he returned to the game, his status for Week 3 is not cemented. Metcalf did not practice for Seattle today, but he spoke to the media and insisted he is fine.

Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers
One of the Niners’ prime weapons is battling a shoulder injury and is questionable for Week 3. Brandon Aiyuk did practice in a limited fashion on Tuesday, but it is uncertain if he will play on a short week against the Giants on Thursday. General manager John Lynch said, “he is working really hard to try to get ready.”
Without Aiyuk on the field, both Deebo Samuel and TE George Kittle could be the benefactors.
Update: Aiyuk is not expected to play on Thursday Night Football.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions
Star WR Amon-Ra St. Brown looked to hurt his toe near the end of Sunday’s game, and head coach Dan Campbell did say Wednesday that St. Brown does have a toe injury and is considered day-to-day. He will not participate in Week 3 prep and, therefore, not practice on Wednesday.
MORE: RB Fantasy Injury Report
If St. Brown is sidelined this week, WRs Josh Reynolds and Kalif Raymond could see more work.
Update: St. Brown returned to practice on Thursday.
Odell Beckham Jr., Baltimore Ravens
After leaving Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, Odell Beckham Jr. went on the injury report. The team suggested it wasn’t that severe of an injury and he would return quickly, but OBJ did not practice on Wednesday.
Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers
The Packers might finally get Christian Watson on the field for Week 3. Watson has yet to make his 2023 debut, but things were trending up with him practicing at the end of last week. He also practiced on Wednesday this week.
Update: Watson practiced on Wednesday, but then was not spotted at practice on Thursday.
Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders’ Jakobi Meyers looks to be progressing through the concussion protocol, and it was reported that he would practice on Wednesay. He did not play in Week 2, but he looks to be trending to take the field in Week 3.
Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins
Head coach Mike McDaniel said that Jaylen Waddle is still in the concussion protocol and will not practice on Wednesday. Waddle sustained the injury at the end of the game on Sunday night. We will have to wait and see if Waddle is ready to return prior to Sunday against Denver, or else we can assume that Tyreek Hill would get even more targets.
Update: Waddle was not practicing on Thursday as he works his way back from a concussion.
