Teams that rely on QB streamers are often dismissed as a true threat, but is that right? We live in a world where, despite getting Travis Kelce back and eclipsing 300 passing yards, Patrick Mahomes was four points shy of matching the fantasy football production of Joshua Dobbs.
That’s not to say that I have Dobbs over Mahomes for the rest of the season (spoiler alert: I don’t), but it is proof positive that there are points to be had on your waiver wire. Your objective isn’t to dominate the QB position, it’s to remain competitive and let the rest of your roster do the heavy lifting.

Top QB Streamers for Week 3
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (vs. Falcons)
Betting on the Detroit Lions’ offense isn’t a bad thing these days, and backing them at home (33.1 PPG at home last season, 31 points in Sunday’s loss) is just flat-out smart. It’s clear that Jared Goff is comfortable at home, and that should again lead to top-12 production this weekend against an Atlanta Falcons defense that Jordan Love just picked apart.
It’s really a bet on volume, a bet I feel even better about should David Montgomery be sidelined. Goff has 576 yards on 70 attempts through two weeks, per game averages that I think he has every chance to continue in this matchup. Any missed time from Montgomery means more Jahmyr Gibbs, a pivot that opens this offense even more.
There is some concern about the pace of play when facing the Falcons, but some early success can change that. We have more than a year of data to suggest that Goff is more than a viable option at home, so why not take full advantage and plug him in this week?
Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos (at Dolphins)
We saw that pretty deep ball from Russell Wilson last week, and this roster has pass catchers who are more than capable of paying those passes off in a big way. Case in point? Marvin Mims’ 18.3 fantasy points on two targets.

Courtland Sutton is a fine player, and with Jerry Jeudy back in the mix, we are looking at a Sean Payton-led offense with enough playmakers to make Wilson a viable spot start. This, friends, is one of those spots.
The Miami Dolphins defense isn’t awful, but they aren’t great, and the offense puts opposing offenses in attack mode due to their quick-strike ability. I’m skeptical that Wilson maintains value past a Week 4 date with the Chicago Bears, but his Week 2 performance was encouraging both as a passer (308 yards and three TDs) and rusher (56 yards).
Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers (vs. Saints)
It’s a little too early to label Jordan Love as the next HOF Green Bay Packers quarterback, but with three touchdown passes (and 20 fantasy points) in consecutive games, he certainly deserves our attention.

Is the Love profile perfect? No, not even close. The rushing potential is limited, and the touchdown rate is unsustainable. Understanding that, this week, he is playing with confidence against a team traveling on short rest and potentially with his top two playmakers back in action.
With the Lions and Las Vegas Raiders on tap after the New Orleans Saints this week, adding Love now might save you from playing the streamer game for a few weeks.
