The Kansas City Chiefs were able to get back on the right track on Sunday, defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars, 17-9. One of Patrick Mahomes’ favorite targets Sunday was Justin Watson, who had three catches for 62 yards. His five targets were tied with Kadarius Toney for the second most on the team (Travis Kelce had nine).
Watson is available in pretty much every league, and with Sunday’s performance, should you consider signing him on the fantasy football waiver wire for Week 3?

Should Justin Watson Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 3?
The issue with the Chiefs’ offense is its wide receiving corp. Right now, it is truly being done by a committee. After Kelce, there is no clear-cut No. 1 wide receiver (and he’s a tight end), so it is tough to find what Chiefs receiver to use in fantasy.
The thing that makes Watson interesting is, generally, when he catches the ball, it is for a big chunk play.

Last season, he had only 15 catches but averaged 21.0 yards per catch. Through two games this season, he has five catches for 115 yards, which comes out to 22.5 yards per catch.
If you were guaranteed that he would average four to five catches a game, those numbers would absolutely make Watson an intriguing waiver wire play for next week.
However, he had seven games last year with zero catches, and his three catches against the Jaguars were actually the most he has had as a Chiefs player.
While it might be tempting to sign him after the game against Jacksonville, the likelihood of him playing a pivotal fantasy role is highly unlikely.
As good as he was Sunday, that number could be close to his ceiling. For Watson, unless he scores a touchdown, he just doesn’t see the ball enough to warrant a roster spot.
During his time with the Chiefs, Watson has only two touchdowns, so that isn’t likely to happen either.
There are plenty of wide receivers on the waiver wire who have a much higher ceiling than Watson. It was a solid day for Watson, but save the money and go get someone else.
