Is Trevor Etienne the Younger Brother of Travis Etienne Jr.?
Yes, Trevor Etienne is indeed Travis’ younger brother. Trevor is around five years younger than Travis, who was born in January 1999, while Trevor was born in July 2004. Both brothers grew up in Jennings, Louisiana, and played football at Jennings High School.
The younger Etienne wasn’t quite as heralded as Travis coming out of high school. Travis was a four-star recruit before signing with the Clemson Tigers. Trevor, meanwhile, was only a three-star recruit and a fringe top-50 RB talent at the national level.

Etienne averaged a healthy 6.1 yards per carry in 2022, and he sustained that high clip in 2023 while sharing touches with Montrell Johnson Jr. Etienne already had a degree of notoriety on account of his name, but he rocketed to new heights against Tennessee, rumbling to 172 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.
Through the 2023 season, Etienne amassed 753 yards and eight touchdowns on 131 carries. He also caught 21 passes for 172 yards and an additional score.
Will Trevor Etienne Follow Travis’ Footsteps?
Trevor is not yet draft eligible, but he will be in 2024, ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft cycle. Travis was, of course, a top college producer at Clemson before going No. 25 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft to the Jaguars. He’s since developed into a dynamic two-phase weapon alongside Trevor Lawrence.
After missing his rookie season due to injury, Travis exploded onto the NFL stage with 1,125 yards and five touchdowns in 2022. And heading into Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals, he has over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns in 2023.
Given that Travis went in Round 1, the question on everyone’s mind is, can Trevor do the same?
It’s far too early to lock anything in for the 2025 NFL Draft cycle, but it looks like, at the very least, the younger Etienne could be in consideration for early-round capital.
Trevor has exceptional speed and burst at 5’9″, 205 pounds, and his frame affords him a level of contact balance. He also has great vision, agility, and patience — as he showed on his long TD run against Tennessee.
For the younger Etienne, the uncertainty lies in his receiving versatility. Travis Etienne caught over 100 passes total in his collegiate career and caught 48 passes for 588 yards in his senior season alone. Trevor, meanwhile, only has 30 catches in 24 career games to this point.
In the modern NFL, receiving upside is a must for early-round RB prospects, and Trevor has yet to show that consistently. Nevertheless, he has a lot of the bedrock traits, and he’s still very young. Were he to declare in the 2025 NFL Draft cycle, he’d be just a 21-year-old rookie.
