For the Jacksonville Jaguars, the 2023 NFL season got off to a good start. The Jaguars went into Indianapolis, defeating the Colts 31-21. Jacksonville had lost five consecutive games at Indianapolis and should come into the game against Kansas City very confident.
The Jaguars have several explosive playmakers and could have possibly found another one in running back Tank Bigsby. The rookie scored the go-ahead touchdown, overcoming an early fumble in the game. He had seven carries compared to Travis Etienne Jr.’s 17, so which running back should you play in fantasy football?

Travis Etienne Jr. Fantasy Outlook This Week
Last week, Etienne had a solid opener. He had 17 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown while also catching five passes for 27 yards. That comes to 21.4 PPR fantasy points, which ranked sixth among running backs last week.
For Etienne, he’s a running back who can stay on the field for all three downs. On passing downs, he’s very good at catching out of the backfield and can even line up in the slot if needed.

Etienne’s rapport is something you can’t replace, as he starred with Trevor Lawrence at Clemson during their college days. There’s no other RB/QB duo quite like that, and that’s a big thing for the Jaguars.
But is Bigsby a guy who could take touches away from Etienne?
Tank Bigsby Fantasy Outlook This Week
For a rookie to bounce back from an early fumble to score a touchdown is a good thing.
Bigsby, a rookie from Auburn, is a powerful RB with big-play ability. He rushed for 2,903 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns in three seasons at Auburn and should be a guy who provides Jacksonville with a solid No. 2.
With the Jaguars going up against the Chiefs, there could be an opportunity to keep Patrick Mahomes off the field by running the ball.
Coach Doug Pederson is a creative coach who does a great job of making life tough on defenses, so you could even see some two-RB formations.
Which of the Jaguars’ RBs Should You Start?
It was awesome to see Bigsby score a touchdown after fumbling the ball early in the game. However, this isn’t like the situation in Detroit, where the rookie is eventually the replacement.
Etienne is a good running back, and there’s no reason why he’s not in your lineup if he’s healthy. His ability to catch out of the backfield as well as run the ball is a very good combination.
Bigsby is a good player to spell Etienne in a game, but fantasy-wise, this isn’t anything you should consider at all.
