Green Bay Packers fans certainly had an interesting start to their year. Their team entered Week 1 with their top wide receiver (Christian Watson) out and their second wide receiver (Romeo Doubs) set to be on a limited snap count. And they were getting ready for a new era as Jordan Love became the new full-time starter for the Pack.
But things turned out great in Green Bay. The Packers beat their rival, the Chicago Bears. Doubs played and scored two touchdowns. And Love had a strong opener.
The team’s only real loss came Monday night, as their former franchise quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, tore his Achilles tendon. This doesn’t hurt the Packers’ chances on the field this season, but it did lock in their conditional draft pick in the deal with the New York Jets as a second-round selection instead of a first-rounder.
But Week 1 is behind us. The Packers now have to face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2. When they do, will Doubs be able to take the field once again, will he be on a snap count, and what can fantasy football managers expect?

Latest News Surrounding Romeo Doubs
While Doubs played less than half of the Packers’ offensive snaps on Sunday, he found paydirt twice and was a huge asset for an injury-riddled team. With the likes of rookies Jayden Reed and Luke Musgrave running routes, Doubs (with only one year of experience) was a needed “veteran” presence.
But Doubs is questionable again this weekend as he was limited in the Packers’ Thursday practice. This was, of course, the same story last week for Doubs, and he was still able to play in Week 1. That fact certainly gives fans and fantasy managers some strong hope as we head into Week 2.
Will Doubs Play This Week?
Since Doubs was able to suit up last Sunday, I would think it is likely he will be able to return to the field once again in Atlanta. The Packers are not putting a lot of stress on Doubs by keeping him limited in practice. They know with Watson being questionable that Doubs’ services could be needed more than ever.
Unless we hear that Doubs is unable to practice on Friday or that he suffers a setback, I would expect him to play this weekend. This could be in a small capacity, like in Week 1, but that didn’t stop him from putting up fantasy points.
What Does This Mean for Doubs’ Fantasy Ranking?
Doubs’ stock is currently on the rise for me in fantasy leagues. Finding the end zone twice and having a strong connection with Love is exciting and something I am willing to buy into. There is opportunity in Green Bay, and Doubs seems like he is ready to make the best of it.
As far as this weekend, I could understand the hesitation on starting Doubs if you have him on your fantasy team. As managers, we have to be very careful about starting players who may not play a good portion of their teams’ snaps.

But Doubs was on the field in the crucial areas for fantasy points, specifically the red zone. Finding two short touchdown catches was not a coincidence.
The Packers know Doubs’ route-running ability and his knack for getting open in the tight areas. Even if his snap share is limited, Doubs could be a big factor when Green Bay is throwing into the end zone again in Week 2.
