Who Is Thursday Night Football Host Charissa Thompson?
Thompson serves as the host for Thursday Night Football’s full slate of programming. Thompson has been hosting sports shows for a long time and has risen to become one of the top hosts in all of sports television. She has hosted several shows in her career, including the NFL on FOX and Extra.

Previously, Thompson worked for ESPN, Versus, and spent time at GSN and the Big Ten Network. She was the co-host of SportsNation along with Marcellus Wiley until her departure from ESPN.
Thompson’s Life Before Television
Thompson was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, as the youngest of three siblings. She attended school in her home state for most of her childhood until deciding to move to California to attend community college.

She later transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she graduated with a B.A. in Law and Society in 2004.
Where Thompson Got Her Start
Fresh out of school, Thompson knew she wanted to be in sports media and got her start in 2007 by appearing on various college sports shows on Big Ten Network and Fox Sports Net. Thompson additionally served as a sideline reporter for college football and college basketball games on the two networks.
She would continue these roles as she progressed in her sports media and journalism career, as she became a National Football League sideline reporter for the NFL on Fox.
After making career moves that would have her leave Fox Sports for ESPN and other outside-of-sports television endeavors, she would later rejoin Fox in 2013, which is where she currently is situated at in addition to her Amazon Prime duties.
