Day three for the East offense
Kevin Davidson continued to display superior arm strength but must learn to take something off throws rather than just power the ball into pass catchers. I was impressed with the poise he showed facing a pass rush during the full scrimmage.
I thought this was the best day of practice for Tommy Stevens of Mississippi State. Stevens can be all over the place with throws and needs to improve his pass placement. But he effectively led the offense during the two-minute drill and made several solid throws in the end zone.
South Carolina’s Tavien Feaster was the top ball carrier this morning, displaying an all-around game. Feaster was solid in blocking drills, had several nice runs, and made a few really nice receptions out of the backfield.
Tight end Mitchell Wilcox made a few nice catches during the session as well, but I come away thinking he’s no more than a number three tight end at the next level – something I mentioned last summer.
Eli Wolf looked good both blocking and catching the ball. He’s not a great athlete but has the tools to be a third tight end or even a fullback.

Excellent showings from several receivers
Today was the first practice for the Clemson players and Diondre Overton made it count. He made a spectacular grab in the endzone, showing great balance and body control to high point the ball from the defender.
Wide receiver Isaiah Wright continued his momentum from yesterday, and once again Mason Kinsey could not be covered. Keith Gavin of Florida State and Freddie Swain of Florida drew high praise from scouts as well.
This was probably the best practice of the week for Aaron Parker of Rhode Island. He made several big grabs in contested situations and really looked like he belonged.
Runyan continues his strong week, headlining offensive linemen
On the offensive line, Jon Runyan had another solid day and seems to be improving with each practice. Meanwhile, Kyle Murphy of Rhode Island also had another good day. However, it’s obvious Murphy needs to get bigger and stronger as he got mauled and bull-rushed on more than one occasion.
John Phillips of Boston College had his moments. I thought Charlie Heck of North Carolina really struggled and was beaten on more than one occasion.
Defensive linemen stand out
The two players who really stood out on the defensive line were Mike Danna and McTelvin Agim.
Danna showed a lot of pass-rushing skill off the edge as well as a nice inside move. He displayed terrific speed around the edge and were it not for incessant holding by opponents, he would’ve been credited with several sacks during the scrimmage.
Agim is also explosive and quick on the inside. Opponents struggle stopping him off the snap and he was constantly getting penetration. Agim is going to the combine while Danna is not.
Garrett Marino of UAB, James Smith-Williams of NC State, and Alex Highsmith of Charlotte all showed well today.
Shaq Quarterman showed a lot of force in the box and worked hard today. That being the case, it’s evident he’s a two down run defending linebacker.
Credit to Parnell Motley as after having two tough days of practice the OU corner looked good today and made several nice stops.
