The East squad will take the field at 9:20 am ET. The West team will follow this afternoon, with a scheduled start time of 2:40 pm ET.

On day one for the East, quarterback James Morgan and wide receiver Mason Kinsey were among the standouts. For the West, running back James Robinson was the best back on either squad yesterday. Additionally, several West offensive linemen had strong performances.

The action wasn’t just on the field yesterday. Pro Football Network Draft Analyst and Insider Tony Pauline also shared the latest buzz from around St. Petersburg yesterday.

Live observations from Tony Pauline at day two of East-West Shrine Game practice

9:15 AM ET: Practice is set to begin here at Tropicana Field shortly.

9:50 AM ET: Opening drills between QBs & WRs with no DBs. Princeton’s Kevin Davidson has a big-league arm. Delivers all his throws with terrific velocity.

9:55 AM ET: WR Mason Kinsey runs outstanding routes. He is quick, sinks his hips, and is always on balance. He has a great WR technique.

10:00 AM ET: Yesterday, I mentioned Michael Pinckney‘s struggles in coverage. He’s rebounded today in drills and looks good. I’m told Pinckney is also dealing with a hip injury that must eventually be fixed.

10:05 AM ET: SMU safety Rodney Clemons is again making a lot of next-level plays in coverage.

10:10 AM ET: UCF running back Adrian Killins is displaying killer quickness and footwork. He has defenders grasping at air.

10:15 AM ET: CB Lavert Hill was reduced to almost making an open-field tackle in order to stop Kinsey out of his route.

10:20 AM ET: Rhode Island G Kyle Murphy looks really good. He has great fundamentals, smarts, and blocking vision.

10:30 AM ET: Murphy is having the best practice of any blocker from the East today.

10:40 AM ET: Temple’s Isaiah Wright is having a strong day. He has made a lot of nice catches.

10:50 AM ET: Florida’s Josh Hammond is another receiver having a strong practice. He shows a really nice burst off the line and has made several impressive grabs today.

3:00 PM ET: After watching him in person the past two days I’m starting to believe Oregon’s Juwan Johnson will have to put on 10lbs and become more of a tight end.

3:05 PM ET: Boise State’s John Hightower is off to a fast start today. Running good routes, getting separation and making a lot of nice receptions.

3:05 PM ET: SDSU’s Luq Barcoo is struggling again. He is slow in his transitions while showing limited speed and getting beat.

3:15 PM ET: Like yesterday, Baylor’s Bravvion Roy is starting strong again. He is blowing up double team blocks and penetrating the line.

3:25 PM ET: Oregon’s Calvin Throckmorton is showing even more versatility. After lining up at guard yesterday, he moved further inside and is playing center today.

3:30 PM ET: Fresno State’s Mykal Walker is lining up as both a 3-4 OLB and 4-3 MLB. He is looking good at both.

3:35 PM ET: West practice is mixing in both 3-4 and 4-3 alignments, which is as good as you can get for a feel of what guys can and can’t do. For example, for all the praise I threw on him yesterday, Nebraska’s Khalil Davis struggling at DE in a three-man line.

3:35 PM ET: Illinois’ Reggie Corbin is having a good practice. He has several nice runs today.

3:50 PM ET: Washington tackle Jared Hilbers has been very steady the past two days. He is not the greatest athlete but he doesn’t get beat.

3:55 PM ET: USC tackle Drew Richmond has been a pleasant surprise and is playing better than expected. He is seeing a lot of action at left tackle. And just like that Khalil Davis just made a terrific play at DT.

4:00 PM ET: If Bravvion Roy wasn’t so dominant, everyone would be saying Khalil Davis was the top D-lineman from the West.

4:05 PM ET: Indiana’s Nick Westbrook has come away with several nice deep receptions today.
