Taysom Hill has had an unexpected NFL career. He has such an arduous journey from college QB at BYU to special teams ace to gadget player to starting QB and back. Hill has his fans and supporters around the league, but none may be bigger than Ross Tucker.
Tucker, most well-known as a former NFL player, podcaster, and broadcaster, heaped praise on Hill.
“I’m not kidding when I tell you that I think Taysom Hill is one of the best football players ever.”
NFL announcers are supposed to hype their game, and hyperbole is part of it, but this is a bit outrageous. Hill is a good football player who has played over his head, but one of the best football players ever? Suffice it to say social media had a say.
What Did Social Media Make of Ross Tucker’s Comments on Taysom Hill?

Some on social media ripped into Tucker, comparing him and other broadcasters to a trash can.

Others suggested comments like these by broadcasters are why they don’t like Hill.

One particularly astute social media commentator caught the contradiction in Tucker’s statements. After he said he was one of the best players ever, Tucker said, “Now, I know [Hill’s] not a Hall of Famer.”

Others questioned whether Tucker is familiar with English.

It is Week 1, and the players need to shake off the offseason rust … the broadcasters do, too.
