    Diontae Johnson Injury Update

Update 09/12/2023: Steelers’ WR Diontae Johnson will be sidelined “a few weeks” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Johnson was seen limping considerably around the blue medical tent before quickly being led back to the locker room. Soon after, the team announced that he would not return to the game.

The Steelers’ offense was already struggling to move the ball against a difficult 49ers defense when they lost Johnson.

The fifth-year receiver has been relatively reliable in the health department early in his career. He played 17 games a season ago and has played at least 15 games every season.

    Johnson Fantasy Impact

Analysis by Kyle Yates: This doesn’t appear to be just a minor injury for Johnson. After a nice catch and run, Johnson pulled up and was immediately grabbing at his hamstring. It also doesn’t help that the veteran WR was pretty quickly ruled out.

We’ll know more later today or early tomorrow, but it looks like Johnson is set to miss some time. This means that George Pickens should move up the Rest-of-Season rankings substantially, while Allen Robinson also becomes someone that fantasy managers may consider picking up on the waiver wire.
