The Dallas Cowboys’ practice report released for Friday has two players listed as questionable and two more doubtful for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Both Tyler Smith and Donovan Wilson are listed as doubtful. Meanwhile, Tyron Smith and Sam Williams are listed as questionable.
What Happened to Tyler Smith and Donovan Wilson?
Tyler Smith
Tyler Smith popped up on the Cowboys’ injury report earlier in the week. He was seen by reporters walking off the field to talk with athletic trainers about hamstring discomfort.
Jerry Jones revealed on Tuesday that Tyler Smith would undergo an MRI on his hamstring. Although he returned to the field and worked with Britt Brown on the sidelines during practice, he is doubtful for Sunday’s game.

In a conference call, Mike McCarthy said that Tyler Smith participated in the team’s mock game on Friday and is scheduled to be a limited participant for Saturday’s practice.

McCarthy said that Tyler Smith’s availability for Sunday will depend on the thresholds he can pass on Saturday.
Jerry Jones on 105.3 The Fan on injuries to Tyler Smith (hamstring) and Tyron Smith (ankle): “They are suspect, probably Tyler a little more than Tyron.” Said the team will wait for gameday on final call but earlier in day on The Fan, Mike McCarthy said Tyron Smith should be OK.

If Tyler Smith does not play, Asim Richards and Chuma Edoga could be the next guys up.
Donovan Wilson
Donovan Wilson has not seen any play time since the team’s first day of training camp in Oxnard, Calif.
Wilson was carted off the field with a calf strain. He was getting work with Britt Brown all week on the sidelines. Although Mike McCarthy said he is “getting closer,” he is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game.

McCarthy said that although Wilson will do more in practice on Saturday, he will remain at a limited capacity. But even when Wilson can take more of a load, he will have a transition back into playing again.
Ramp-up phases are familiar with McCarthy as he emphasizes player safety and doesn’t rush the process of getting them back into the game prematurely.
If Wilson doesn’t play, it’s safe to assume that we could see more of Markquese Bell, who has stepped up in Wilson’s absence since training camp.
What Happened to Tyron Smith and Sam Williams?
Tyron Smith
Tyron Smith popped up on the injury report on Thursday, with what reports are saying is an effect of him rolling his ankle.
Jerry Jones said on 105.3 The Fan that Tyron Smith would be “suspect” to play on Sunday.
Sam Williams
Sam Williams has been dealing with turf toe this week.
He started the week with Britt Brown on the side of the field during practice, getting work on resistance ropes. But he has gradually gotten more workload as the week progressed.
