Dallas Cowboys Injury Report: Latest Update on Tyler Smith

What are the latest injury updates from Wednesday's practice? Will Donovan Wilson and Tyler Smith be ready for Sunday's game?

The Dallas Cowboys continue preparing for Sunday’s matchup against the New York Giants. A small portion of the beginning of practice was open to media. Here are some of the injury observations and updates.

    Dallas Cowboys Practice Report

During practice today, the Cowboys worked on position drills in mid-90-degree heat with feels-like temperatures over 100 degrees.

UPDATE: Per the practice report, Tyler Smith, Donovan Wilson, and Sam Williams did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. However, Jourdan Lewis was a full participant.

    OL Tyler Smith

During a press conference, head coach Mike McCarthy gave an update on Tyler Smith’s hamstring injury, saying he would work exclusively with Britt Brown, the team’s associate athletic trainer/director of rehabilitation, today.

McCarthy gave more information on the injury, saying that it occurred during an individual drill during Monday’s practice and was not an injury Smith had in the past.

Smith was not on the practice field during the media’s allotted time to watch practice.

This came after owner Jerry Jones said in an interview with 105.3 The Fan that Smith would take part in an MRI on Tuesday.

    S Donovan Wilson

During practice, safety Donovan Wilson was getting work on resistance ropes on the sidelines, the same workload the media saw him getting during Monday’s practice.

McCarthy said that Wilson and Smith are in the same category, and he was not ready to discuss their availability for Sunday’s game yet.

    DL Sam Williams

Sam Williams, who is dealing with turf toe, was at practice today and was getting resistance rope work on the sidelines with Wilson.

McCarthy said Williams would be limited at practice today. But as is the case with Wilson and Smith, it is unclear if Williams will be ready for Sunday’s game.
