Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs remain one of the premier NFL franchises coming off back-to-back Super Bowl victories. Can the Chiefs keep their momentum going and become the first team in the NFL to win three consecutive Lombardi trophies?
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are still the focal points of one of the top offenses in the NFL, while the Chiefs hope the addition of speedster Xavier Worthy, who the team selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, helps them weather the losses of Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown to knee and shoulder injuries, respectively.
Here’s a look at the Chiefs’ coaches for the 2024 season.

New Additions to the Kansas City Chiefs Coaching Staff
Surprisingly, given Kansas City’s massive success over the years, Reid’s coaching staff continuity stays strong. While he was forced to replace his offensive coordinator in 2023, there were no significant changes at the top coordinator positions ahead of the 2024 regular season.
However, there was a change on the defensive side. Former outside linebackers coach Ken Flajole retired following the 2023 season. Reid announced that defensive assistant Rod Wilson would fill the spot.

Wilson has been with the Chiefs in a coaching role twice, once as an assistant special-teams coach from 2017-2019 and in his current stint as defensive assistant and now outside linebackers coach. During his time away from the Chiefs, he was the University of South Carolina’s linebackers coach in 2020 and Coastal Carolina’s inside linebackers coach in 2021.

The Chiefs also promoted Alex Whittingham from defensive quality control to defensive assistant. Following his collegiate career at Utah, Whittingham immediately joined the coaching world as a defensive assistant for the Chiefs in 2018. He has done most of his work with the LB group in Kansas City.
The only new addition is defensive quality control coach Louie Addazio. Addazio played TE for Boston College from 2013 to 2015, after an earlier run with Syracuse. In 2017, Addazio joined Ohio State’s staff as a graduate assistant for the offensive line.
He joined Colorado State in 2020 as the offensive line coach before becoming the offensive line analyst for Texas A&M in 2022. Across his many stops, he has coached many linemen and TEs to All-Conference and All-American selections.
Will he be able to improve an already great roster and game plan?
