The Top DSTs To Draft in 2023

    San Francisco 49ers

If you are going to be among the first fantasy managers to select a defense, you may as well select the best one. This San Francisco 49ers unit boasts the best linebacker duo in the league with Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw, added versatile S Ji’Ayir Brown in the draft to pair with Talanoa Hufanga, and — oh, yeah — don’t forget this defense also has the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Nick Bosa terrorizing opposing QBs.

    More Consensus Rankings: QB | RB | WR | TE | K

This unit is still among the most talented in the NFL and well worth the investment of selecting them as the first defense off the board.

    Washington Commanders

When drafting a defense, I care about exactly one thing: Week 1. That’s it. No defense has a better Week 1 matchup than the Commanders.

The theme of streaming defenses for the 2023 season is going to unsurprisingly be attacking the Arizona Cardinals. The clearly tanking Cardinals are completely bereft of offensive weapons beyond Marquise Brown. They are going to be starting either Clayton Tune or Josh Dobbs at QB.

This team is going to be projected for under 14 points in most games. The Commanders at home against the Cardinals could very well be the highest scoring defense in Week 1.

    Philadelphia Eagles

A defensive unit that finished with a jaw-dropping 70 sacks and 17 interceptions in 2022 somehow managed to add Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Sydney Brown, and Kelee Ringo to the mix. Yikes.

Philadelphia’s unit is going to absolutely terrorize opposing offenses in 2022. Draft the Eagles with confidence and start them every single week, regardless of matchup.
