Quentin Johnston joins a Los Angeles Chargers offense being taken over by Kellen Moore, a match seemingly made in heaven. But can he pay off that potential for fantasy football managers in Year 1 given the talented pass catchers already on this offense?

Quentin Johnston’s Fantasy Outlook for the 2023 NFL Season
Justin Herbert is my pick to lead the league in passing yards and Johnston is just a small part of that equation. The Chargers return both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams (two players to target with your draft strategy) — veteran receivers looking to rebound from injuries that limited them in 2022.
After a contract situation this summer, Austin Ekeler and his elite skill set are also back in town, giving new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore an embarrassment of riches.
Gerald Everett is an oft-forgotten option in this aerial attack. But he set career highs in catches, targets, and yards last season, his first with the organization.
Is Johnston a Good Fantasy Pick?
Johnston is more than talented enough to make a difference in fantasy lineups during his first season. That’s a fact.

Also a fact? His size profile is a perfect fit for an offense that will be much more aggressive under Moore. Sadly, his path to clear targets is far from clear. At his current ADP, you need a little more than that.
Is Johnston a viable upside play when your roster needs it? Yes.
Do I think he works his way into the weekly flex radar barring an injury ahead of him? I do not.
Players like Zay Flowers and Skyy Moore might have less single-play upside, but they have more immediate role upside and that is enough for me to favor them in the ninth round.
