Cincinnati Bengals Cuts Tracker: Charting the Path to the 53-Man Roster

Following their final preseason game, the Cincinnati Bengals now need to cut their roster down to 53 players ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

The 2023 Cincinnati Bengals cuts tracker is here. The Bengals need to reduce their roster from 88, where it stood when the team arrived home from Washington following Saturday night’s 21-19 loss to the Commanders, to 53 before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. roster cuts deadline.

Will Cincinnati keep three or four running backs? Three or four tight ends? Nine or 10 offensive linemen?

We’ll have you covered as soon as the team starts notifying players of its decisions.

When a player has been reported cut, we will cross his name off the list with a strikethrough line.

By the roster deadline, the Bengals will be down to 53 players. Cincinnati is 29th on the waiver wire if they elect to bolster to thin spots the way they did last year when they claimed three players shortly after the deadline: Max Scharping, Devin Asiasi, and Jay Tufele.

Players who go unclaimed by noon Wednesday can be added to the 16-man practice squad.

Two players expected to make the 53-man roster left Saturday’s game with injuries — defensive end Joseph Ossai (right ankle) and tackle D’Ante Smith (left shoulder). If either player needs to go on injured reserve with the intent of returning after the minimum of three games missed, the Bengals will have to carry him on the 53-man roster before making the IR transaction Wednesday.

Players placed on IR before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline will be out for the season.
