Is Ryan Tannehill playing today? Let's take a look and see if the Tennessee Titans quarterback will play in the preseason finale.

With the last week of the preseason upon us, how likely are we to see Ryan Tannehill play in the Tennesee Titans’ third and final preseason contest? The Titans take on the New England Patriots on Friday night; here is all we know about the chances of Tannehill appearing.

Will Ryan Tannehill Play in Third Preseason Game?

While there is speculation on if Tannehill will see action this week, head coach Mike Vrabel said it is possible he does get some reps but would not give a concrete answer when asked on Wednesday afternoon, and it is anything but a sure bet at this time.

Vrabel sees the value of his quarterback getting preseason snaps, hence why he is contemplating, but the idea of protecting his QB and ensuring he would be ready to go for Week 1 is surely in the back of his mind.

Who Will Play QB for the Titans?

Outside of Tannehill, the Titans currently have two other quarterbacks on their roster at the moment, and both bring intrigue to the room.

Presumably, the first off the bench for the Titans will be last year’s third-round draft pick, Malik Willis.

Willis was once thought to be the future of this team, but the Titans’ drafting of another QB early in this year’s draft has changed the dynamic and has people around the league wondering how Willis’ career will unfold in Year 2 and beyond.

The reason for the lack of clarity for Willis is the third quarterback on the Titans roster, Will Levis. Tennessee selected the University of Kentucky product in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft, and the way people felt about Willis in 2022 is changing their admiration for Levis in 2023.

Both quarterbacks are in a battle for the QB2 spot behind Tannehill, but as far as the future prospects go, all eyes are on Levis and Willis as the Titans try to sort out who is the team’s quarterback of the future.

One thing is clear for the Titans, though: All indications are that this season belongs to Tannehill, as the team hopes to be able to develop and compete for a title at the same time.
