The Atlanta Falcons surprised many when they drafted a running back not just in the first round, but in the first 10 picks of the 2023 NFL Draft. The Texas Longhorns superstar entered the draft process as one of the most talked about and highly coveted prospects. Joining a young team that already featured players like Desmond Ridder, Kyle Pitts, and Drake London, it did nothing but add excitement to his potential in the NFL.
Bijan Robinson Starts Off Hot in Preseason Game 2
According to the NCAA website, Robinson finished his college career with the following records:
- Texas school record for yards per carry in a game (19.1)
- 3rd in Texas career rushing touchdowns (33)
- 4th in Texas career rushing yards (3,410)
- 4th in Texas career total touchdowns (41)
- 8th in Texas career all-purpose yards (4,231)
- 9th in Texas career points scored (246)
Robinson did not play in Atlanta’s first preseason game, but he was on the field for their second game at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. And although the team’s first drive was riddled with penalties, when Robinson touched the ball, he showcased the talent that all Falcons fans have been waiting to see.
Robinson took his first-ever NFL handoff and burst through the Bengals’ defensive line, proving he hadn’t lost a step since his college days.

Robinson finished his first drive in the NFL with four carries for 20 yards and a reception for six yards. However, the stat sheet did not represent what everyone saw with their eyes.
He might not have racked up the yards, but Robinson at least proved that his third RB designation on the depth chart is quite laughable at this point.
Robinson currently ranks third overall in PFN’s Consensus Fantasy Football Rankings.
