Miami Dolphins Roster: Ranking Players Who Can Make Final Depth Chart

The Miami Dolphins' roster is stacked on the top end. But how does it look beyond the stars? We get an early look at their depth chart as we rank their roster.

Depending on the ranking, the Miami Dolphins have the NFL’s No. 4, No. 9, No. 10, or No. 14 roster.

PFN ranks Miami in the top seven in both offense and defense. The Dolphins’ locker room will glow from all the star power this fall.

But as training camp approaches, there are many jobs still available in the bottom half of their depth chart.

Here’s our working list, from 1-88, of the Dolphins’ top-heavy roster as rookies get set to report to their first training camp.

    Locks

The Dolphins, from 1-12, are as talented as any team in football. They will go as far as this group takes them in 2023. The only question: health. Tua Tagovailoa, Bradley Chubb, Terron Armstead, and Xavien Howard all have injury histories.

    1. WR Tyreek Hill
    2. QB Tua Tagovailoa
    3. DB Jalen Ramsey
    4. LB Bradley Chubb
    5. OT Terron Armstead
    6. CB Xavien Howard
    7. WR Jaylen Waddle
    8. DT Christian Wilkins
    9. DE Emmanuel Ogbah
    10. LB Jaelan Phillips
    11. FS Jevon Holland
    12. LB Jerome Baker

    Likely

The Dolphins returned a large majority of their 2022 core. But there are some fresh faces in this group, including second-round pick Cam Smith, free agent linebacker David Long, and wide receiver/kick returner Braxton Berrios.

    13. G Robert Hunt
    14. TE Durham Smythe
    15. CB Cam Smith
    16. LB David Long
    17. RB Raheem Mostert
    18. DT Zach Sieler
    19. G Connor Williams
    20. CB Kader Kohou
    21. RB Jeff Wilson
    22. WR Cedrick Wilson Jr.
    23. S Brandon Jones
    24. OT Austin Jackson
    25. DT Raekwon Davis
    26. OT Liam Eichenberg
    27. WR Braxton Berrios

    31. RB Devon Achane
    32. OL Dan Feeney
    33. OT Isaiah Wynn
    34. FB Alec Ingold

    Bubble

This bubble is probably a bit inflated, but there’s a fair amount of uncertainty with how Mike McDaniel plans to construct his roster.

Will he keep three quarterbacks again? How many cornerbacks will he carry after last year’s injury-plagued season? Do both Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed make the cut?

    35. CB Keion Crossen
    36. WR Robbie Chosen
    37. TE Eric Saubert
    38. P Jake Bailey
    39. WR River Cracraft
    40. QB Mike White
    41. QB Skylar Thompson
    42. CB Nik Needham
    43. S Verone McKinley
    44. CB Noah Igbinoghene
    45. S Justin Bethel
    46. RB Salvon Ahmed
    47. LS Blake Ferguson
    48. LB Malik Reed
    49. K Jason Sanders
    50. S DeShon Elliott
    51. CB Trill Williams
    52. RB Myles Gaskin
    53. WR Erik Ezukanma
    54. TE Tyler Kroft
    55. CB Elijah Campbell
    56. FB John Lovett
    57. DT Josiah Bronson
    58. OT Cedric Ogbuehi
    59. LB Mitchell Agude
    60. LB Channing Tindall
    61. LB Aubrey Miller
    62. DT Brandon Pili
    63. WR Braylon Sanders

    Longshots

There’s a pretty steep drop-off after the top 60 or so, but that’s the reality for every good team. If your 30th-best player and your 70th-best player are interchangeable, odds are you have a bad roster.

    64. OT Kendall Lamm
    65. WR Elijah Higgins
    66. OT Ryan Hayes
    67. WR Tanner Conner
    68. WR Freddie Swain
    69. OT Kion Smith
    70. DT Jaylen Twyman
    71. TE Julian Hill
    72. OT Geron Christian

    Camp Body

Could one of these 16 emerge over the next six weeks and steal a roster spot? Sure. But the best realistic outcome for the following players is earning a spot on the practice squad.

    73. CB Tino Ellis
    74. LB Cameron Goode
    75. G Lester Cotton
    76. CB Bryce Thompson
    77. LB Garrett Nelson
    78. RB Chris Brooks
    79. DE Randy Charlton
    80. WR Chris Coleman
    81. WR Daewood Davis
    82. DT Anthony Montalvo
    83. S Keidron Smith
    84. OT James Tunstill
    85. P Michael Turk
    86. OL Alama Uluave
    87. S Bennett Williams
    88. QB James Blackman
