We break down the latest injury news on Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn, including whether he'll be back in time for training camp.

Carolina Panthers star cornerback Jaycee Horn has played in only 16 games since being drafted eighth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. We have the latest on Horn’s injury status, including what will cause him to miss the Panthers’ OTAs and minicamp this summer.

    Jaycee Horn Injury Update

The Panthers announced that Horn has suffered an ankle and foot injury “while working out on his own.” Horn, 23, suffered a season-ending right foot injury in his rookie campaign after playing in three games. This foot and ankle injury is on his left side, so it’s not a reinjury of his previous ailment.

Horn bounced back in 2022 with a solid season. He notched three interceptions, seven pass breakups, and 53 tackles in 13 games. He admitted that although his injuries have been more of the result of bad luck since they were bone breaks, Horn knows his greatest asset is “to be available” to help the team.

Carolina has an OTA practice Thursday before finishing the offseason with next week’s minicamp. Horn is expected to be fully recovered before the start of training camp in late July.

The Panthers will certainly need Horn back to be their best. They don’t have another proven quality starter besides Horn and Donte Jackson. Young corners C.J. Henderson and Keith Taylor Jr. will need to step up if either Horn or Jackson suffer an injury setback this fall.
