It’s always interesting to explore the hobbies of NFL players outside of football. Former Green Bay Packers and newly acquired New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers constantly shares his love of music. Rodgers has been seen at many concerts, including a recent Taylor Swift concert at MetLife Stadium in New York (home of the Jets). Picking apart defenses on the football field, Rodgers’ ability to pick on the guitar is just as impressive. Rodgers recently discussed his guitar collection in multiple interviews.
Aaron Rodgers’ Extensive Guitar Collection
Rodgers’ musical interest is very intriguing. His various guitar collection includes a 1969 Gibson Hummingbird and several Fender Stratocasters and Taylor models. Of the many amazing guitars Rodgers owns, the 1969 Gibson Hummingbird is his favorite, as he expressed how special it is to him. He also has great admiration for the Taylor model.
Rodgers’ Guitar Skills
The MVP quarterback’s guitar skills are just as impressive as his talent on the field. In one of the best State Farm commercials Rodgers has been featured in is where he first showcased his guitar. There are other videos, including a recent one of him playing the popular song “Wagon Wheel.”
Whether it be on the football field or on the guitar, Rodgers can definitely play!
Guitar Passion as a Potential Gig After Football Retirement
With Rodgers’ football career winding down, many have speculated his options, including being in the broadcast booth or hosting Jeopardy. Either of those options would be a perfect fit.
Yet, Rodgers could potentially use his guitar hobby as a potential side gig. He could potentially play at nightclubs for fun to attract large crowds to help businesses. Being invited on stage at concerts would also be exciting.
Considering Rodgers’ great interest in giving back to the community, it would be terrific to see him make special appearances at schools as well as donate to music programs. Whatever Rodgers decides to do after his football career, let’s hope it includes his passion for music. It would be a shame for his musical talent to go to waste.
Jets’ Expectations for Rodgers
Given Rodgers’ success for the Packers, the Jets expect the same greatness.
It’s been over a decade since the Jets last made the playoffs (2010), and they expect Rodgers to quickly help lead them to a winning season and a playoff berth. For that to happen, New York will rely on him to spark an explosive offense similar to the likes of the Packers’ 2020-2021 offense.
If all goes as planned, Rodgers should be able to turn this team around and lead the Jets to the Super Bowl within the next few years. Hopefully, he can get at least one more Super Bowl win in his career before retiring.
