BeeJay Williamson, S
Strengths: Productive safety with an underrated game. Quickly diagnoses plays, tracks the pass in the air, and has an explosive closing burst. Weaknesses: At times, does too much knocking down rather than wrap-up tackling. Not a stout tackler. Lack of deep speed is a red flag.
Overall: Williamson was a tackling machine for Louisiana Tech over the past three seasons and did a good job making plays against the pass. His lack of speed will be an issue at the next level, but Williamson offers potential in a zone system.
Myles Brooks, CB
Strengths: Stephen F. Austin transfer who watched his game explode last season. Athletic, physical, and strong. Blows through blocks to get upfield and makes the tackle in space. Brings ball handlers down at the point of attack. Fluid flipping his hips in transition, mixes it up with receivers throughout the route, and stays with opponents downfield.
Effective facing the action, quickly diagnoses plays, and has an explosive closing burst. Tracks the pass in the air, gets vertical, and fights to defend the throw. Possesses next-level size. Showed well during Shrine Bowl practices.
Weaknesses: Must improve his footwork and backpedal and polish his technique. Struggles following receivers out of routes or staying on the on their hips out of breaks.
Overall: Brooks comes off a tremendous campaign for Louisiana Tech and is a defensive back prospect who makes plenty of athletic plays. He possesses an upside, but he must polish his ball skills and defensive back fundamentals. If he lives up to expectations, Brooks has the ability to line up as a No. 2 cornerback.
