With pro day season in the books, teams are now turning to top-30 visits as the 2023 NFL Draft approaches. Each NFL club is allotted 30 in-house meetings with draft prospects as they dive deeper into their draft boards.
Let’s check in on the latest updates from around the league, including notes on Kliff Kingsbury, Bryce Young, and Jordan Addison. Be sure to check back daily for the most important takeaways from the news and rumors circuit.
NFL News and Rumors
A former NFL head coach lands a job in the collegiate ranks while the draft’s top prospects set up visits with the teams. Here are the latest news and rumors from around the league.
Kliff Kingsbury To Join USC Staff
Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury will join Lincoln Riley’s staff at USC, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Pelissero indicated Kingsbury will work with the Trojans’ quarterbacks, while Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reports Kingsbury’s title will be Senior Offensive Analyst.
Kingsbury originally joined USC as offensive coordinator in 2018 after being fired as Texas Tech’s head coach. However, he only lasted a month in southern California before the Cardinals brought him to the NFL ranks.

Kingsbury attracted NFL interest this offseason, as well. He interviewed for the Houston Texans’ offensive coordinator role and met with the Baltimore Ravens about an undefined position. Kingsbury was also linked to the New England Patriots’ OC job, but he never officially interviewed for the gig.
Texans Hosting Bryce Young on Pre-Draft Visit
After meeting with the Carolina Panthers — who hold the No. 1 overall pick — on Tuesday, Bryce Young will visit the Houston Texans later this week, per Pelissero.
The Panthers are thought to be increasingly warming to the idea of selecting Young at the top of the draft, so the Texans may not get a shot at the Alabama QB. But if Carolina goes with Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Houston would likely select Young at No. 2.
“I know Bryce is an outstanding leader from what I’ve seen, and an outstanding quarterback,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said of Young in March. “It’s no surprise the success that he’s had. Just because of the makeup, the type of guy that he is. Wishing him the best moving forward.”
Houston has built a solid offensive line and added free agent pieces like Robert Woods, Dalton Schultz, and Devin Singletary to an offense that already included Dameon Pierce. Adding a rookie quarterback is the logical next step, although there have been rumors that the Texans could draft an edge rusher at No. 2 before using their No. 12 selection to trade back up for a passer.
C.J. Stroud Will Huddle With Raiders, Colts, and Lions
Young isn’t the only quarterback prospect meeting with teams at the top of the draft board. Stroud visited with the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday and will spend time with the Colts and Lions later this week, according to NFL Network.
While the Colts are already in range to select one of the draft’s top QBs at No. 4, the Lions (No. 6) and Raiders (No. 7) might have to trade up, especially if they want to land Stroud. Betting markets have Stroud favored to go either first or second in the draft, so it might take a miracle for him to fall.
Detroit or Las Vegas could trade up to grab Stroud, but their best trade partner is likely the Cardinals at No. 3. Stroud could be gone by that point, but these clubs still have to perform due diligence.
WRs Jordan Addison and Jalin Hyatt Take Meetings
USC wideout Jordan Addison will have a busy week. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Addison will meet with the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and Buffalo Bills this week.
The Giants are still searching for wide receiver help even after re-signing Darius Slayton and adding former Colt Parris Campbell. Meanwhile, the Vikings need a replacement for Adam Thielen, who was released earlier this offseason, while the Bills could stand to bring in another weapon after Gabe Davis fell short of expectations in 2022.

Tennessee’s Jalin Hyatt, who won the Fred Biletnikoff Award after posting 1,267 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns last season, will also visit the Giants and Bills, reports Jordan Schultz of The Score. Hyatt is the No. 46 overall player on Pro Football Network’s Consensus Big Board.
Edge Rushers Tyree Wilson Lines Up Visits
Texas Tech pass rusher Tyree Wilson is “a lock” to go in the top 10, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, who reports Wilson will meet with the Jaguars, Cardinals, Raiders, and Patriots this week.
While the Patriots (No. 15) and Jaguars (No. 24) will likely be out of range to land Wilson, Breer says Wilson “loved the idea” of getting face-time with Bill Belichick and Doug Pederson. By the end of the team-visit circuit, Wilson will have met with nearly every club scheduled to pick in the top 10.
Buccaneers Hosting Will Levis
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have set up a quarterback competition between former second-round pick Kyle Trask and free agent addition Baker Mayfield, but they could use a long-term option under center. With that in mind, Tampa Bay will meet with Kentucky prospect Will Levis on Wednesday, per Pelissero.
Levis is widely viewed as the fourth-best QB prospect in the draft, but he could still come off the board inside the top 10. The Buccaneers, holding the 19th overall selection, are likely outside Levis’ range barring a trade up.

With that said, we’ve seen quarterbacks slip in previous drafts. If Levis falls outside the top 10, Tampa Bay could hypothetically consider moving up the board to land its franchise QB.
Will Anderson Jr. To Meet With Lions
Will Anderson Jr., aware that he’s a likely top-five pick, has only met with one team — the Houston Texans — thus far. That will change this week when he visits the Detroit Lions, according to Pelissero.
Alongside Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter, Anderson is considered one of the most dominant defensive prospects in this year’s class. While the Lions would surely love to pair the two-time unanimous All-American with Aidan Hutchinson, Anderson is unlikely to be available when Detroit is on the clock at pick 6.
Of course, the Lions have plenty of ammunition to trade up. Detroit already had extra picks in the first, second, and sixth rounds, and they acquired an additional fifth-rounder by trading cornerback Jeff Okudah to the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday. If the Lions are desperate to add another premier edge rusher, they can make it happen.
