Sidy Sow NFL Draft Profile
- Position: Offensive Lineman
- School: Eastern Michigan
- Year: Sixth-Year Senior
Sow was a two-star recruit out of Woodward High School in Toledo, Ohio. Not being a highly sought-after recruit, Sow chose to play college football at Eastern Michigan.
However, it’s been quite some time since Sow joined Eastern Michigan. Back in 2017, Sow redshirted the entire season. He first got into games in 2018 but was immediately inserted into a starting role.
That season, Sow played in 13 games, allowing 11 QB hurries, one QB hit, and three sacks while primarily playing left tackle. Sow followed that up with a mediocre third season after switching to left guard. He allowed 16 QB hurries, two QB hits, and no sacks.

The 2020 season was mired by COVID issues. As a result, Sow played just six games. In those contests, he once again played primarily at left guard, surrendering two QB hurries, two QB hits, and one sack. In 2021, Sow again played in 13 games, allowing six QB hurries, two QB hits, and three sacks.
Not content with his production, Sow exercised his extra year of eligibility due to COVID, returning to school for a sixth season, in which he played in 12 games, allowing 13 QB hurries, three QB hits, and two sacks.
Tony Pauline’s Scouting Report for Sidy Sow
Strengths: Wide-bodied offensive guard who flashed dominance the past three seasons. Fires off the snap, bends his knees, and quickly gets his hands into opponents. Explosive at the point and knocks defenders from the line, opening up running lanes. Keeps his head on a swivel and is always looking for someone to hit.
Engulfs defenders and takes them from the action. Quick to the second level, squares into linebackers, and out-positions them from the action. Stays square, fights with his hands, and anchors in pass protection. Always looking for someone to hit.
Weaknesses: Off balance and overextends. Lacks footwork in space. A little too large and isn’t properly conditioned.
Overall: Sow had an up-and-down career at Eastern Michigan, yet he played solid football last season and built on the flashes he displayed as a sophomore. He possesses outstanding size, long arms, and better-than-advertised athleticism, which should enable him to find a spot on a roster that employs either a power-gap or zone-blocking system.

For a man of his stature, Sow has very good size and decent athleticism. Despite spending six years at college, he did improve enough to earn All-MAC honors in 2022.

Given Pauline’s grade and projection, Sow should get drafted. But, at best, he’ll be a late Day 3 selection. That puts him fighting against the grain to earn a spot on an NFL roster.
Fortunately, there’s no such thing as having too many offensive linemen. For that reason, Sow should get a chance to prove he belongs, and if he gets drafted, that will certainly help. But even if he’s a UDFA, Sow should get a shot at training camp.
Given his size, it’s likely that an NFL team will want to see if they can mold Sow into a quality offensive lineman.
